When we take away all the bluster, fiery speeches, MAGA hats, ex models, name dropping, name calling, playmates, pornstars, proud boys, oath keepers and connections with the rich and famous, we get the ugly little truth as to why Donald Trump is running for President in 2024:
He doesn't want to go to prison!
In addition to his present NY hush money trial (which is not going well for him by the way) He is facing a number of other trials which could very well land him in prison for years. Despite a very favorable judge in Georgia and his delay tactics, Trump knows it's very unlikely he'll emerge from his mountain of legal woes without a number of guilty verdicts. His only hope at this point is to win the Whitehouse and get these investigations and trials shut down. Don't deceive yourselves folks "The Donald" has no interest in making America great again, his only interest is in making Donald escape justice - again!
@mchill saidBut there are so many strong, brave men who come up to him, tears in their eyes, saying that he’s the best…

@mchill saidAn interesting point of view. I see him more as a 'winner', he wants to win, and what better platform than the WH. He likes to 'Do ' things, get things done. Imagine his saying to the press that "I want to go to bed'.

I think that you are not telling the whole story. And you only write about his 'questionable' traits in your first sentence. I do hope you sleep better at night than does Sonhouse.
And McHill,,,,,,he knows he is not going to be imprisoned, even if found guilty.
PS: I have laughed at you libs mocking Trump's picking 'only conservative' judges for SCOTUS. Tell us that the next liberal president will not try to pick liberal judges.
I mention that, since we will hear big time from libs if this gets to SCOTUS!!! We will discuss how the court will lean!
@AverageJoe1
Ah, DO things, get things done. You mean like the 2000 mile long wall he promised to build and Mexico would pay for it? Or urging folks during the covid crisis to ingest bleach, kills covid in minutes or shove a UV light up your butt, also kills Covid, or Covid will be gone by Easter or my tax bill will have companies building manufacturing plants right here in the US, which did nothing of the sort instead his two trillion dollar bribe was used to allow mega companies to do stock buy backs so their financial situation improved, like they really give a rats ass about manufacturing in the US.
It wasn't till Biden passed the chips bill that companies started building manufacturing here in the US like the multi billion dollar Intel project to do exactly that. I may remind you if China actually attacks and takes over Taiwan, our supply of chips could go to zero on any whim of the Chinese government so it in fact is vitally important for the US to have our own chips plants right here but I don't imagine you even bring that kind of thing up in your own mind, too focused on the border crisis.
@averagejoe1 saidYou misspelled "whiner".

@Mott-The-Hoople
The real banana republic will start the day your god gets reelected. That will be the time for a large exit from the US by real people. The US may never recover from the dark decades Trump will produce. So ride with it, you may get a great jog sucking Trumps dick.

That really is the crux of the biscuit. He has no other reason to seek high office than immunity from indictments which were already running before he assumed high office. What he did in high office was merely squirm to stay there.
@moonbus saidThere's no other advantage to being president. Right SCOTUS?

@wildgrass saidWell, there is the further perk of being able to stack the SCOTUS and then appeal every verdict one doesn’t like up to the SCOTUS.
There's no other advantage to being president. Right SCOTUS?
@moonbus saidI’d missed this. You actually think he might go to prison?

@AverageJoe1 saidNo, I think he'd defect to Russia before going to prison.

@shavixmir saidTrump's been treated with kid gloves the whole way--there is clearly a two-tier justice system in America: no other defendant with 90 felony charges lined up would have been granted so many delays and allowed to impugn judges and intimidate jurors the way Trump has done. I doubt he will be sentenced to jail time, if convicted, but if he thought he might be, I can well imagine him getting himself 'kidnapped' and deposited in a Russian embassy in Washington or Havana. Even then, the Trumpettes wouldn't see that as desertion or treason -- they'd still buy into his 'witchhunt' fantasy.
trump running… hahahaha
@moonbus saidIt is completely mental.

Like a cult.
