Trump gave a speech. Americans had been waiting for clear rationale explaining why we were at war. We didn't get that at all. The Atlantic magazine wrote an article titled "Maybe Trump Should Not Have Given This Speech"
Why? It was a garbled mess. It criticized allies. It put the onus of cleaning up the war on others who didn't want to make the mess in the first place. The rationale for the war, if you even want to call it rationale, was something about nuclear weapons but then he said the nuclear material was already permanently inaccessible, buried under rubble. So what are we doing? It almost seems like strait-up terrorism at this point.
The president seems lost. Perhaps he should have stayed off the podium for a bit longer, rather than display how adrift he is to the American public and the world.

I was disappointed as I was sure he had something to tell us, to ask for primetime, and all of the networks ran it, even the liberals .
I guess all he really told us that he expects everything to be wrapped up in 3 to 5 weeks. He has to make split second decisions all the time which liberals absolutely abhor., but such is the life of a leader.
Always remember that all of his speeches everything he says are couched in such a way that he is setting up one vignette after another. in other words, all is not as it seems. This disappoints Suzanne, as she thinks there should be no hidden meanings about what he does. He had a reason for his ramblings last night, and maybe some people heard it different than others. You say he did not give us his reasons for attack. I am saying he certainly has for several weeks now.

I think my reasons, however, for why it should happen, outweigh your reasons for not wanting it to happen, a hundredfold. All liberal reasons fall flat on their face. I will pick a real touchy one, the death of the school children. I can only say that in Hiroshima more than 100 children were killed. So if you had been in Truman‘s war room, you would’ve said, let us do not bomb Hiroshima because innocents will be killed. So I guess we would all be, as they say, speaking Japanese now.
This is typical of the points that I put on the forum all the time which none of you can ever respond to. Like when I did an analogy of the guy coming in off the street into a ladies bridge club when they were voting, and he wanted to vote too. That was a great analogy, but nobody responded to it.
