About time the Trump family got some recognition. π
@averagejoe1 saidThat... is not how it works. Or rather, it is, but it doesn't mean anything.

Anyone may be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, if he can find one of the thousands of nominators to write his name on a form. There are as many as 200 nominees in some years. It doesn't mean that any member of the Committee takes such nominations seriously.
There's nothing special about being nominated. It's not an endorsement by the Nobel Committee, not even a partial one. Being on the shortlist would be, but those aren't made public until 50 years after the fact. Nor are the nominees, but of course it's easy to proclaim "I just nominated so-and-so"; not so easy to prove your nomination was shortlisted.
@averagejoe1 saidDo you think when HE DOESN'T win

I assumed a nomination was serious.
@jimm619 saidOnly because he was the first black president.
OBAMA was nominated, AND WON..... π
Even Obama disagreed with winning it by saying..."for what?"
He was genuinely not impressed with the "token" prize...
@contenchess saidEh, no. You're nominated to the Committee, not by it.
Well that is interesting π€

@Contenchess
You are going to ruin your reputation, actually saying you might have learned something.
But at least you admit itπ
@contenchess saidPartially agree;
Only because he was the first black president.

I think the 'Peace Prize' was awarded more on The World's
repudiation of G.W.'s bogus Iraqi, 'War on Terror,'
than any of OBAMA's accomplishments.
@jimm619 saidNonsense. It was handed to him on a platter, years before he did anything about the War For Terror.

Don't get me wrong, Obama was an immeasurably better president than his predecessor, and even if he'd felched Hilary during the State of the Union he'd still have been better than his successor. But that Peace Prize was given for his skin colour, and he himself agreed it was as worthwhile as Kanye.
