So if its not former staffers, former Trump appointees, former military brass, you name it, regardless of their unwillingness to endorse his candidacy, does all of this negative repudiation actually work or does it just encrust on MAGA supporters even more loyally, absolutely determined to vote in their orange messiah?
@kmax87 saidhis maga votes are fanatically loyal, he won't lose them. the thing is that's pretty much it, he can't get new votes.

Republicans have been relying on making us politics and the voting process disgusting enough so that young people don't bother to vote. The problem is that they overdid it with Trump so that many feel they now HAVE to vote.
@kmax87 saidAs more and more of the adults in the room who thought Trump could be tamed jump ship, it lays bare the true caliber of those who support him no matter what crimes he committed or might yet commit.

It’s bizarre that such a cracker, surrounded by even crackier crackers has such a strong following.
What does it say about the state of the US at the moment?
It will also, in decades ahead, be interesting to see modern research on this phenomenen of people being suckered by seemingly strong personalities.
We always hear: how did so many Germans fall for Hitler’s spiel?
From that you get poverty, fear, a common disdain of communism and minority groups.
But there must be more to it.
trump’s policies favour the richest 5% of the US population. He doesn’t do much for the working classes. He’s obviously not religious and he has the distinct odour of a con man about him.
What the hell is going on?
@shavixmir saidI’ve said this before, but I will say it again: he is not the cause. He is a symptom. He is the poster boy for disgruntled entitlement. He is the unwitting marionette of a major demographic shift in America.

What bothers me is that Trump is not particularly intelligent or eloquent.
Demagogues are usually crafty wordsmiths or clever schemers. Trump is neither of these. He babbles innocently and displays stupidity that Onion writers couldn't think up.
He schemes are always half-brained messes that always get exposed, and end up with multiple supporters being imprisoned.
I could understand Tucker Carlson or Ron DeSantis having fanatics. They say pretty much the same things as the fat orange doofus, just more intelligently. But Trump? It makes no sense.
Maybe the "evil genius" villains in fiction should be changed. Instead of Hannibal Lector or Professor Moriarty, should movie villains be drooling retards?
@vivify saidcan you please explain harris' plan for our country? tia

@Mott-The-Hoople saidThanks for your non contribution Mr McSpammy.

@moonbus saidIf he is a symptom not a cause, and I totally agree, what does that say for the future? Do we simply wait for a younger generation to take on the reigns of power? Or will the corporate capture of DC only get worse and with that a further disenfranchisement and polarisation of people who are no longer well served by a tone deaf two party system?

@Mott-The-Hoople saidLike Trump will actually give you the time of day if you have nothing to offer him...LOL
you have been indoctrinated …you support someone that won’t even speak to you but will gladly take your money and livelihood.
@Mott-The-Hoople saidWhat a blatant hypocrite.
