@divegeester

He wears his conviction like a crown. For his supporters, his conviction is merely an affirmation of his false narrative that he's the victim.

Which is why he WILL double down.

His whole 'make me' attitude is why the judge should give him 3 years on July 11th.

And Democrat ads shoving home the point he IS a convicted felon will have great effect on moderate repubs in the coming months.
And Democrat ads showing what Biden has already done in THIS presidency, like the infrastructure bill, getting insulin down from 400 bucks to 35, or the Chips bill starting the process of making chip plants back in the US, BILLIONS spent on that bill.
We can't win just hanging on to the 34 felony counts, we have to also show what Biden has already done for common folks here in the US.
He also has to have a win in the Gaza war all the while NetenYAHOO keeps screwing up the idea of a cease fire because he KNOWS he is in deep legal trouble if things calm down enough for Israeli's to get back to HIS legal charges.

I agree, I do not believe his conviction is going to expand his voter base. His conviction only inflames the pre-existing voter base.

Doesn’t mean he has attracted anyone who did not vote for him in 2020.

Aside from the fact that what you're proposing goes against his very nature, he can't "repent" from this because it's based on something that everyone has basically known about for years. If he suddenly admits that paying Stormy Daniels hush money was a crime of election interference, he's undermining many of his central narratives.

In any case, I'm having trouble seeing this whole incident as anything but a boon to his campaign.

Can someone please describe to me the profile of the voter who didn't already despise Trump, as is on board and on board with and impressed by this prosecution?

Feels like a unicorn to me.

The sad part is if it was ANY democrat with this level of guilty verdicts would be SCREAMING HANG THE SOB, JUSTICE IS SERVED.
Now of course the repub world is going to be hyper focused on Hunter's court case and I have no doubt there will be Newsmax, fox and the rest of the talking heads saying if he gets off it is TOTAL political hacking by Biden.

If he gets convicted, a totally fair justice system, well, except for the Trump conviction, THAT is a perverted POS corrupt system, and the judge really is the Devil himself and the trial was just another Cuban fake trial, of course totally ignoring the mountain of evidence proving beyond a reasonable doubt BY A JURY that Trump was, is, and always will be a crook.

And people like average Joe who said right here if Trump was convicted of a crime, he would not vote for Trump but of course he was lying through his teeth, now he says there was no crime, what was the evidence, like he never followed the case and totally ignored the evidence, just PRONOUNCING the whole thing as weaponization of the DOJ system and OF COURSE started by Biden.

All this is an insult to our intelligence and a direct attack on the very system of justice that with all its faults has held our system of laws together for 200+ years till the hideous advent of Trump who has no respect for ANYTHING in our system of government.
He would tear the constitution in a paper shredder and put millions of people in concentration camps, pull out of NATO and pad the whole system with total yes men, who would have to swear loyalty to Trump and Trump alone FUK the constitution and DOJ, in other words, putting us on the road suffered by many other countries around the world, leading to a dictatorship and believe me, IT CAN HAPPEN HERE.

We are not immune to the destruction of democracy and anyone who poo poo's that is brain washed by the Trump cult, now more like the Trump religion.

It remains to be seen however how many swing voters will ditch him. I'll be checking the poll numbers after Labor Day for a clearer picture.

I agree. It's almost like the purpose of bringing criminal charges was to prosecute crimes, not to influence an election.

@wildgrass
Except it was literally BOTH. If the story of Stormy had come out a week before the elections Hilary may have been POTUS and Trump knew that full well which is why he is a convicted felon now.
