Europe has given us so much recently: xenophobia, communism, socialism, welfare statism, psychiatry, two world wars, nihlism, the United Nations, anti-Americanism, etc. -- why should we be surprised that it is again a hotbed of anti-Semitism?
If Europe being anti-America is bad then what gives Americans the right to be anti-Europe?
What about what America has given the world (and itself) so much of recently?

Perhaps you are more a race baiter than I a bigot.
As compared to worthless Muslims. Bigot.
Merk: Britains can embrace the Muslims all they want, we are going to enjoy absorbing their hard working Jews while watching their Imams incite violence.

Interestingly, immigration to Israel hit an 18 year low in 2006. The exception was from North America where it increased 7%. This is the opposite of what Merk is claiming. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=807019&contrassID=19&subContrassID=1
I never said immigration to Israel was up, I said that persecution leads to exodus. If violence against Jews continues to rise, there is no reason to think they would just stay put. The 2 logical options for Jews that decide to leave are Israel and America. The ones in the best position to leave, are the skilled and educated Jews. That would be a plus for the country they decided to emigrate to.
Stop being such a stinker. Methinks you're looking a little too hard for an arguement. Maybe the action at work was a little slow this week, and you're looking for a fix? 🙂

Originally posted by AThousandYoungOh boy. Here you go again. Number 1 disproved nothing I said. I never said that they have been emmigrating. I said if attacks on Jews continue to rise, some Jews will choose to emmigrate. Which ones will emmigrate first? Naturally, the ones that have the means to emmigrate.

Why are so many Jews in Israel already? What more proof do you need? Many Jews have felt that the only place they could really feel like they belong is in Israel. That's why so many of them went there. Now, they have learned that they can feel like they belong in countries other than Israel. If attacks continue to rise, how can they feel like they belong? What happens when they don't feel like they belong? Do you honestly think they will all stay?
Do you really expect me to provide emmigration figures from the future?

The net result will be that some of the Jews that can afford too - because they're skilled - will leave Europe and go to one of two likely countries, Israel or America.
In fact, Jewish emigration to Israel is up not from Europe, but from the US! So you're wrong and your attempts to personalize the discussion are the usual recourse of right-wingers on this site.

Originally posted by MerkWell, according to the article cited in the first post, there is a big increase in anti-Semitism in Europe. If your thesis is correct, then that would translate to an increase in Jews leaving Europe to go to Israel. In fact, nothing of the sort is happening. So there is no evidence to support your claims. If you want to ignore all the facts and simply hold yer breath until you turn blue and claim "what I say is true regardless of what actually is occurring", then you should post in Spirituality.
