No competent alien would risk contaminating our environment with microbes they carry. They would send robots and try hard to kill all microbes before they are sent like robots we send to Mars. Some Tardigrades crashed on the moon. Did they survive? Could be.

We can create nanobots and we are too technologically primitive to travel between stars. Don't you think a species capable of travel between stars can create a flying robot smaller than the human eye can see and collect DNA? I seriously doubt they would risk coming anywhere near the surface of the earth. And if they did they would not fly the Ford Pinto of space ships or get shot down by dumb ass primates.
