Nope. They should spend a few more years wishing they would have let us insert the 4th from Turkey.

Turkey is ready to go... troops and tanks on the border of northern Iraq... Kurds are in trouble... Should the US let them have at it?

Turkey says they have troops on the border. The State Department says they are no evidence of Turkish troops movement. That's State though, they're diplomats.

The Kurds have backed Turkey against the PKK in the past, but it sounds like they're not ready to this time. If Turkey can secure the support of the local Kurds, I say they should go for. Get the support anyway they can. It might cost millions, but if they don't get it, they're actions into Iraq will pay little dividend.

Will other countries back Turkey in their fight to protect themselves from Kurdish terrorist?

Aren't the Turks Kurds themselves?
From what I read they might be more interested in expanding turkey with the blessing of the Kurds

I doubt it. Nobody else really has a vested interest in stopping them. I hope we don't help Turkey. They wouldn't back us in Iraq, so we shouldn't back them if they go into Iraq. Besides that, they have a nasty reputation for being world class heavy handed. We're talkin serious truncheons and mustache wax. If they go into Iraq, its in our best interest to not be seen as supporting them.

That being said, we should not stop them either.

There are a lot of Kurds in southern Turkey. That's the big concern when it comes to creating a Kurdistan. They could easily want southern Turkey.

I dont see how the US could help Turkey... even though we are in a global war on terror. I think your right, that we should not stop them.

We have a better relationship with the Kurds than the Turks do.

Establlishing homelands is tricky. Look at Israel. On the other hand, Iraq and Saddam are gone. The Kurds will not have a better chance. And they want it -- bad!

Not an easy situation.

Moustache wax? What does that mean? Snidely Whiplash evilness?

I hope this question is neutral enough to warrant a response without our feud coming up. I'm really curious what you mean...Promise not to be annoying if you answer 😛

turkey should give up their portion of kurdistan and help out the new government.

probably it's a wasteland as compared with the opposite region of turkey, at the moment.

better to have a thriving economic zone on the kurdistan side, even if it's not owned by turkey.

That would be very cool of them if they did that. But then I kinda think the US should give Native Americans a state or two. Let's be friends, man...
