For many, it's not America. And this is about the UK, which is nowhere near America. Unless you're Sarah Palin and Afghanistan is a "neighboring country."

🙄 What is it about discussions being over shadowed by spelling references? The man went to Peru but lives in Ireland. OK?

It's all a matter of investment. If they earn more than 20 million back from that sponsorship deal, then what is the issue? The only thing you could complain about is that people are stupid enough to fall for advertising.

i doubt they'll get their 20m back. who is going to change their bank because they saw their logo on a rugby jersey? no one, you pick a bank you feel that it will suit your finances.

i would hope people are not that stupid, i've always questioned why companies put so much of their money into sporting sponsorships.

but especially now in this economic climate, it's just bad business on the part of the bank of scotland and i wouldn't have any confidence in the banks ability to take care of my money if this was my bank.

But that's you, and not the average idiot. Perhaps this is an especially good time, since the reputation of RBS has been tainted and there is need for positive associations with the name.
