Should the UN have a role in Iraq? If so, what should it be?

Yes, the UN should have a role. Tony Blair is working on a Security Council resolution to accomplish just that. The resolutions objective should be for the UN to play a major role in the period between the installment of a transitional government in june 2004 and the first Iraqi elections in january 2005.

Yes they should run it by themselves. Then the whole world can see what a clusterF**K organization the UN really is.

If I was Annan, I wouldn't touch Iraq with a barge-pole.
The US wanted Iraq, let them sort it out.

Yes, the UN should not get involved at this stage. The U.S. were so keen to get into Iraq and get busy carving Iraq up into so many different businesses before the dust settled, why does the U.S. want the UN now? Damage limitation.

You cannot rule the people without the consent of the people.
