Treason?? Better read yer Constitution again there junior; see treason isn't fighting FOR yer country it's fighting agin it! Little distinction a big history buff like you should be able to puzzle out even if ya ain't the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree! Course GW didn't have to do no fightin in his dangerous tour of duty in the Texabama ...[text shortened]... ones Club!
PS And you obviously don't understand the concept of "sarcasm" very well.

But we all debate the issue of democracy and isn't that what the invasion of Iraq was supposedly all about ?
Stan, your problem is that instead of arguing that you hate the people of Iraq and don't want them to be able to participate in their own govenment, you just hate the US, and TRY to use the Iraqi's to support your arguments. The only problem is that the Iraqi's have now told you to "shut the hell up". So do. Please.
It's ok to hate the US. But when you insist on supporting terror, de facto -- then you are not seen as a reliable citizen. Of any community.
Just for once say that the Iraqi people deserve to be free. That isn't too difficult.
Then go ahead and find new reasons to hate the US. There must be plenty of reasons to do so. Opposing the elections of last week seems a stretch. People willing to mark themselves with ink -- to become targets of killers -- deserve better than for you to support the killers.

Originally posted by DelmerNo, treason, dear boy, is defined in the United States Constitution as follows "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort." Assuming your little story is true (and you've cited no link for it) "meeting" with anybody does not treason make. It constantly amazes me that you flag-waving archpatriots don't even know what's in the US Constitution, the Declaration of Independence or have any knowledge of the basic political philosophy of the people who created this country. I didn't even vote for Kerry and I don't even live in Massachusetts (the location is sarcasm too) but it's ridiculous to call someone a traitor who was getting shot while your hero in the White House was driving around stateside drunk. And the most patriotic thing John Kerry ever did was to come back home and tell the people the truth about that war and how it must be ended for the sake of BOTH countries. Right wing zealots like you make STANG look like the most reasonable man on Earth in comparison.

"Betrayal". Betrayal is what the Viet Nam war was about. Jimmy Carter "betraying" the Paris Peace accords which required him to support the South when and if the North invaded again. Ramsey Clark was sent to North Viet Nam to assure the commies that we would betray the people of the south. And we did.
Just as Senator Kennedy wants us to betray the people of Iraq, by pulling out before they can fight the terrorists on their own.
Seems as plain as day. If you want to read a bit of history.
Betrayal. Not Treason. Betrayal. It's that damned "values" thing.
Betrayal. Bush senior "betraying the Kurds" and "betraying the Shiites" in Gulf War One... just to be good members of the UN. Betrayal. We voted the bastard out over that issue. Nothing else. But this is just my memory of it all. Not truth written in heaven and earth. Just my opinion.

I was wondering if anyone was awake. I have done this same thing at least twenty times in the past. Congratulatons. You are the first to ever notice.
<evil grin from svw, hoping that people will actually start to examine and think... nheee haw!>
Substitute "Ford" for "Carter" and that nazi guy... what's his name? Fords secretary of state for Clarke. That will do. It was still betrayal. The paris accords call for the US to support the South. We did not. I care little about the cowards, just the betrayal. And Bush senior did lose because he betrayed the people of Iraq. In my opinion.

Don't you think having a high profile Navy officer secretly meeting with the Vietnamese Communists in Paris is giving aid and comfort to the enemy? Of course there was no trial for Kerry. He was a Bay State Blueblood. But there should have been a court-martial. Could you please give me a date for Teddy's manslaughter trial? BTW, my hero is not in the White House. Originally posted by DelmerWasn't much of a "secret" meeting if the Boston Globe knew about it, was it genius? You obviously don't know what treason is: the terms "aid and comfort" mean material assistance, NOBODY in this here United States has ever been convicted of treason for simply "meeting" with anyone. And the fact that there was no declared war would have made any treason charge probably legally impossible even if Kerry had actually done something, which he didn't. I'll tell you what: when YOU run the military and civilian legal systems in this country than YOU can decide who gets tried for what, not before.

And what are you, dense? Look at people's location, one says "right behind you" is that person lying because he's not really right behind you???? You may not keep up on current events in RHP (you're obviously not hitting the history books though), but some of us have been involved in a little effort to get rid of blatant cheaters on this site. Some people who for some reason don't approve of this, were calling us "witchhunters" even though people were actually discovered cheating and tossed from the site due to our efforts. So I added Wicked Witch Hunter to my title and Salem, Mass as a location for obvious reasons (or do I have to explain that bit of history to ya too???????).
