No, jammer, the website article is just one of many, all backed by the military/court/police/victim reports, and the undisputed history of Carters violent LIFELONG criminal background.
The movie was a lot of trash, anyone associated with it should be ashamed.

Here's another link, to make you THINK.

The ability to tell the difference between facts and bullsh1t is an important one....I don't think you possess it, jammer.

Fortunately, what you think is very near meaningless in my world.

It takes a lot to get a reversal on a double murder conviction.. and he WAS convicted.
It takes even more if you're a black man convicted of murdering whites.. yet his conviction was overturned.
Read the trail transcript for the truth of what happened and how his conviction was overturned.
He was set-up for a fall by the police in Patterson,NJ.
You're right about him being a violent man and having a lot of enemies. He was arrogant too and nobody likes a loudmouth, strong, RICH blackman.. certainly not in the early 60's.. and certainly not an intercity white cop with his own ass to cover.
While you're searching websites to support your view you may want to look for the actual transcript of the trial.. both of them. His conviction AND his bid for dismissal.

What you may not realize is that Rubin Carter has NEVER been declared innocent or otherwise exonerated by the courts. Carter was set free because of two alleged procedural errors, NOT because of new evidence. Those alleged errors were cited by a single judge who heard no witnesses and issued an error-filled opinion that demonstrated his very poor grasp of the facts. The judge claimed the prosecution had appealed to "racism over reason" -- which makes no sense because the 1976 jury that convicted Carter included two blacks! That lone judge threw out the work of scores of police and prosecutors who, to this day, believe Rubin Carter is a triple murderer. So do I.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office chose not to try Carter a third time because Carter was nearing a parole date and some witnesses had died. The fact remains that there was “a mountain of evidence” against Rubin Carter. There were eyewitnesses who placed him at the crime scene. His alibi witnesses admitted that they had lied at his request. Carter was convicted twice by fair-minded juries. There were black people in both of his jury pools and blacks served on the second jury that convicted him for the triple murder. There is no doubt that Carter, who had been terrorizing others almost since kindergarten and who enjoyed sadistically stabbing and shooting total strangers merely for amusement, was capable of committing murder.

"To black folks he was just a crazy nigger -- nobody doubted that he'd pulled the trigger..."

Finding ammo in the car Carter was in right after the robbery/murders that matched the two types of firearms used may have had something to do with his conviction, in addition to the two victims that said he was the shooter.
But Carter said it was all a set up by racist police, so I guess you should believe him, since he was such a wonderful guy. He certainly wouldn't tell a lie, would he?

What you may not realize is that NO ONE is EVER declared innocent in an American court of law.
He obviously was exonerated.. he was set free and their are no charges pending.

Jammer, please read previous posts and try to understand what's being said. The prosecutor was given the option to try Carter all over again and declined because Carter was coming up for parole anyway and after so many years, another trial would be difficult, if not pointless.
That's hardly an exoneration.

If their was something to reply to, I would.
All you've got is your opinion that you put forward as "fact."
It's simply not.
Here's a fact .. they let him out .. and they didn't want too. They had to. Their are 10s of millions of Americans who would agree with you. The majority sitting on the appeal board disagreed with you.
When the Courts forced his release he was exonerated. What else can you call it when the system admits it was wrong?

exonerate

v : pronounce not guilty of criminal charges; "The suspect was cleared of the murder charges"

You wanna hate on the brother go ahead. He's about 70 yrs old now, but would probably still kick some serious butt if you got that stupid to his face.
