@no1marauder saidAre you willing to make a bet on it? The usual terms.
It's a waste of time talking to you when you get into your inevitable "hold your breath until you turn blue" mode.
Biden said he would remove troops by August 31st, keeping a campaign promise. If internet tough guys want to call him a "coward" for ending this stupid, futile war, so be it.
The pipeline that has been discussed for 30 years but never actually built an ...[text shortened]... liban as the government of that country might very well support it as prior Afghan governments have.
Prove you are confident I am wrong. Stake your reputation on it. I am willing to risk mine because I am very confident I can prove it.
Here's an article from February 2018 that indicates the Taliban were supporting TAPI even then: https://thediplomat.com/2018/02/tapi-moves-into-afghanistan-taliban-promise-to-protect-the-project/
"Security is generally cited by observers as the biggest concern, although the Taliban has pledged, repeatedly now, to support and protect the project. In December 2016, the Taliban said they were “committed to safeguarding” national infrastructure projects like CASA-1000 and TAPI."
From a Taliban spokesman at the time of the article:
"The Islamic Emirate views this project as an important element of the country’s economic infrastructure and believes its proper implementation will benefit the Afghan people. We announce our cooperation in providing security for the project in areas under our control."
@metal-brain saidWe've been through this and I've already told you I wouldn't make a bet where you were the sole judge of who was right or wrong.

Anyway, I've already shown the Taliban were supporting TAPI for 20+ years and as such it couldn't possibly be the centerpiece of some alleged deal between them and President Biden.
@no1marauder
Are you willing to make a bet on it? If I prove before the end of the month I win. If I don't you win. The usual terms. If you lose you create a thread called "metal brain is right and I was wrong". If I lose I will do the same for you.
Deal?
@metal-brain saidNo, for reasons already stated.

There is zero possibility you would ever admit you were wrong.
@no1marauder saidNo, it is because you know I don't make bets I am not confident I can win.

You are wrong. From the link below:
"NBC News' chief foreign correspondent Richard Engel appeared to agree with Sasse and Cheney, writing that "there's lots of blame to go around." Trump, he said, set things in motion by making a "terrible deal with the Taliban," while Biden was the one who actually implemented it."

No, for reasons already stated.

@metal-brain saidWait a minute, didn't you claim Biden made a deal with the Taliban just to get the pipeline (that it turns out they supported for over 20 years) built?

@metal-brain saidNo, Biden has no deal with the Taliban to turn the country over to them in return for them agreeing to a pipeline that they had already agreed to in 1998.
...and you will? Prove it. Admit you were wrong.
Or for any other reason for that matter. The Taliban's quick victory is definitely a political negative for him as he surely knows.
@no1marauder saidNo. The Taliban pledged to protect the pipeline. That is all I claimed.
Wait a minute, didn't you claim Biden made a deal with the Taliban just to get the pipeline (that it turns out they supported for over 20 years) built?
I proved you wrong. Biden implemented the deal.
Can you admit you are wrong?
@metal-brain saidYou didn't "prove" that Biden made a deal with the Taliban regarding a US troops withdrawal. In fact, Biden unilaterally extended the period of US occupation which the Taliban bitterly complained about as I've already shown you. You offered zero evidence that any "deal" between Biden and the Taliban was in place (even the Taliban don't say there is), so you should either find some or withdraw the claim.
No. The Taliban pledged to protect the pipeline. That is all I claimed.
I proved you wrong. Biden implemented the deal.
Can you admit you are wrong?
@metal-brain saidLMAO! You mentioned it in FOUR posts and basically said it was part of some "deal" between Biden and the Taliban. That has been proven laughably wrong.
No. The Taliban pledged to protect the pipeline. That is all I claimed.
I proved you wrong. Biden implemented the deal.
Can you admit you are wrong?
@no1marauder saidI proved you wrong. Read the article. Biden implemented the deal. I didn't specify what the deal was. I all did was give examples that indicated there was a deal. You denied there was any deal by Biden. I proved you wrong.

You've offered zero evidence that there was any deal between Biden and the Taliban to turn Afghanistan over to them. As some have mentioned truthfully, Biden did not stick to the Trump deal and unilaterally changed the date of withdrawal. You don't even deny this, but still insist on some conspiracy including the US government forcing Twitter to leave Taliban sites up. That you absolutely refuse to admit your errors, including your prior insistence that Taliban support for TAPI was strong evidence of a Biden "deal", shows why any bet with you would have been folly since you insist on being the sole judge of any such wager.
@no1marauder saidYou are now lying. All I said was there is a deal with Biden and the Taliban. I never claimed to know everything that was in that deal, just that one existed. In fact, I'm pretty sure we don't know everything that is in the deal. I'm sure they are not going to share them all because I suspect keeping opium production high is one of them. Do you think they are eager to admit that?

I didn't make the errors you claim. I never claimed government forced Twitter or Facebook to do anything. Doing nothing requires no conspiracy. I do think that if Biden wanted Twitter to censor Taliban communications they would do it. I think you do too. The Taliban pledged to protect the pipeline. How do you know that is not a part of the deal? You do not. I never used the words "strong evidence" of a deal either. You simply made that up.
The date of withdrawal is irrelevant. It doesn't prove Biden didn't have a deal. I didn't even claim the deal was not renegotiated. Maybe the Taliban did not honor every part of the deal before Biden got into office and he threatened to scrap the deal unless terms were met as agreed. I said nothing to rule any of that out.
You are lying about what we were debating to weasel out of admitting you are wrong. I have no errors to admit because you have not proven any so called errors wrong. You are just making up lame excuses to weasel out of admitting you are wrong, something you claimed I would do if in reverse. Clearly your psychological projection.
Can you admit you are wrong? Of course not. You never do.
