Well, they would if they had any balls. Which they don't, so they didn't.
They just sneaked in and killed some kids.
Just as well they didn't sign up to the universal declaration for children's rights... 'cause that would have made them hypocrites.

"American soldiers" emerged from helicopters and "attacked a civilian building under construction and opened fire on workers inside - including the wife of the building guard - leading to [the deaths] of eight civilians", it added.

"The helicopters then left Syrian territory towards Iraqi territory," Sana said.

The dead include a man, his four children and a married couple, the Syrian report said, without giving details of the children's ages.

this is a more un-biased source. As long as Syria is a pipeline for al-Qaida into Iraq things like this will occur, but i see no problem attacking those that are headed to attack our troops in Iraq. As for the children, that is probably propaganda for weak-minded individuals like you, and other American haters (bosse).

I don't know what happened, when, and to whom.

All I have is what I see in the media from various countries representing various interests.

It is my practice therefore to reserve judgment until I am more confident than not I have a grasp on the facts -- what actually happened.

Until then, not much point in speculating about it.

So we have the BBC touting Syrian officials and an unnamed source stating that Americans killed a bunch of kids. hmmmm. I think I'll wait for more details.

When Turkey or Switzerland interned belligerents during WWII, neither side made any attempts on those persons because they were "out for the war".

The US is at war with al-Quaida. Therefore:

"A neutral state may not give armed assistance to any belligerent, or lend money, or guarantee a loan to either side, or permit its territory to become a base for hostile operations. Although it may permit the innocent passage of belligerent vessels through its territorial waters, it is expected to intern belligerent troops and aircraft that enter its jurisdiction."

Syria did not follow these simple, internationally accepted rules. So Syria can bluster all they want, but Syria is in the wrong. So is Pakistan for the same reason.

Isn't the US in the same situation then for backing a million different regimes all over the world?

And are the agreements still the same as before WWII?

And what the hell did those 4 dead children have to do with anything?
Are you seriously justifying the murder of children???

Wonderful, so it's OK to kill innocent civilians, including children, as long as you state you were targeting al-Qaeda?

I also love how any criticism of American foreign policy or military action, both known as: killing people who don't agree with us. HOORAH! - is automatically an "American hater" or "America-basher".

The mentality these days is this:

ya don't know who might shoot ya so yer might as well shoot the lot'o'em.

Not that I agree with it but there it is.
