Still occupying 1/3 of Syria while the talking heads keep complaining about Russia invading Ukraine. This one of the reasons I am sometimes embarrassed to be an American. If a foreigner pointed out the hypocrisy I could not deny it, nor condone it.

@metal-brain saidRussia and Assad are occupying the other two thirds and have murdered countless women and children including by chemical warfare, what your point.

@metal-brain saidWhy are you peeling off about Ukraine?
That is 100% a lie. All of it. Russia occupies less than 1/3 of Ukraine.
Didn't you start by talking about Syria?
Kev is also talking about Syria.
Why distract with Ukraine?
And you're embarrassed to be American because you'd rather be Russian.

@suzianne saidBecause the Kremlin tell him what to say and they want the US out of the Middle East and Europe so they can murder as many people as they like. He will be telling us next that Assad is a legitimate regime,

Oh and the US isn’t occupying any of Syria but they are carrying out strikes against Isis and other terrorist groups whereas the Russians are doing exactly what they are doing in Ukraine, namely, flattening civilian areas that Assad deems unfriendly to his dictatorship and in return they get Syrian ports and influence in the region.
@kevcvs57 saidThe US is meddling in a civil war AGAIN.

You would think by now we'd get that occupying Middle Eastern countries isn't that smart of a policy, but it seems the fiascos in Iraq and Afghanistan have taught us nothing.
It would be nice if the Syrian People ejected Assad and ISIS, but that should be up to them. Your idea that it is up to other countries to decide which regimes are "legitimate" or not and then justify force against those you deem "illegitimate" is a recipe for never ending war all over the globe.
@no1marauder saidThis isn't about messing with ME countries this is a U.S. proxy war against Russia. Assad is allies with Putin; ousting Assad would help prevent Russian influence in that area.

This in no way excuses U.S. meddling, just providing proper context.
@vivify saidBy NATO and USA logic then...

Russia should be able to occupy the allies of the USA/NATO then?
