Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw had some blunt words for 2020 presidential hopeful Joseph R. Biden this week after the latter claimed that travel bans and “a wall will not stop the coronavirus.”

“A wall will not stop the coronavirus,” the former vice president tweeted Thursday. “Banning all travel from Europe — or any other part of the world — will not stop it. This disease could impact every nation and any person on the planet — and we need a plan to combat it.”

Mr. Crenshaw observed that Mr. Biden’s clarion call for “a plan” most certainly would, for all intents and purposes, include walls, travel bans, and other measures to curb the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak

Does this virus give legitimacy to the notion of border control for Dims?

We all know the answer, no, and had Dementia Joe been President, there would either have been no travel ban or one that was placed much later.

@whodey
Trump is acting like a complete idiot at today’s press briefing.
Yes, some members of the press are baiting him.
But it proves that his thin skin and penchant for BS does nothing to calm a very nervous nation.
This press briefing has descended into a debacle.

I think of Biden standing at the same podium.
He would be infinitely better.

Did Crenshaw mention how the construction of walls might help contain Covid-19?

A considerable number of countries have introduced travel bans for foreigners. The key words are "for all intents and purposes", so the walls are figurative one. Somewhat annoyingly Whodey does have a point here.

That should have made alarm bells ring. Of course he doesn't have a point - Trump's border wall is supposedly intended to stop illegal immigrants, not to close the border. To close the border for legal immigrants all you have to do is decree it. Furthermore, while the Covid-19 pandemic is ongoing and has already spread throughout the U.S., no border wall is going to help.
