Get used to it? Really? No, I never get used to personal attacks, regardless of what seems fair to you. It's demeaning, whether I agree with the attacker or not.

You could raise yourself above the level of primal mudslinging, or not. Seems that you're choosing "not". Hey, bully on you. *yawn*

C'mon, people. The tossing around of personal attacks is hardly debate.

Yes, perhaps white will someday stand for what's right. We can only hope. Maybe next election? 😛

I have been amused since the election to hear all the pseudo-conservative pundits and politicians look into the cameras with their very best puppy eyes and say "I really want Obama to succeed. I am an american, and we can succeed only if he succeeds." John McCain is chief among these fools.

I believe these idiots. And it explains why the Republican ...[text shortened]... ommander in chief. But other than that, I wish a plague upon him and all his government.
It is my contention that both parties have been leading us towards the path of socialism now for quite some time. Just look at "W"'s policies. He was the biggest fiscal liberal of our time. The only catch was, he lowered taxes in the process. I guess that's what makes you a conservative now days. LOL.

As for wishing Obama well and this bit about the nation coming together, was it me or did I hear the chant, "Na, na, na, na, na, hey, hey, hey, goodbye", when "W" stood to speak? In addition, we had signs that said Bush should be imprisoned and the likes of Pelosy and company in Congress talking about taking "W" to court over possible "crimes".

All in all, the unity they speak of comes only can come when things are going the left's way. In that respect, we are now unified than we ever have been before.

So because a Chicago Brother has pretty dark skin every evil, mean spirited "white" should forget that the good brother is a frickin' socialist. You have a real powerful argument goin' there bro. gag

I'm not so sure brother kirksey, the white folk seem to have been a nasty lot for a very long time according to the preacher.

Edit: I forgot, we have come together......somewhat.

Brother kirksey and most racists see a great significance to being a certain color. I guess that is ok if that is what they really believe.

I might even be able to learn to tolerate their point of view... I guess. I'll tell you what. It will take me a while to figure out which parts are which, but seeing as Brother Obama is half honky, I'll only critisize the white part of his genome. That should work. That way I don't have to be labeled a racist or anything.

His culture is another matter. He was born of a white, liberal mother and raised by two white liberal grandparents. He was educated in a white liberal school system. He went to college at white liberal Harvard. He was bought and paid for by the white liberal Chicago political machine. Brings a whole nother meaning to "being born into the projects". Probably better be stated that he "became a project" of the white liberal world. Hmmm...

I see a pattern here. I don't think his blackness quite shows up in the correct column of the socio-economic scale that is so sacred to liberals. So I will just critisize the white half of his dna and genome... while reserving the right to castigate him for being part and parcel of the white liberal establishment. That should work.

Time to put Friedman's Free to Choose in the wastebasket where it always belonged.

The Socialist Party platform of 1928 represented the least revolutionary Marxist group in America, and they ripped off most of their ideas from Democrats. Of course it was implemented, as even Republicans who are not Libertarians (without the social agenda of the Libertarians) have suported most of these principles.

John Locke called it a Social Contract. Benjamin Franklin said, "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." You cannot call "Socialism" those fundamental principles at the heart of the American system of government and expect others to listen to you with an open heart.

Can't argue with you too much as I have never read "free to choose". As long as we are clear on a few points.

You think that an effective government would enforce equality to the best of it's ability.

I think that even the concept of "effective government" is a myth of biblical proportions.

Is that fair?

I recognize that statement as a Republican caricature of fundamental American principles they abandoned long ago, but I cannot tell you what it means. It certainly is not an accurate expression of what I believe.

(But you know that; you just pretend otherwise.)

I'd love to stay and play SVW, but I've gotta go work.
