Depends if the event were staged. Propaganda is best served with pretty pictures and happy games.

But no... perfection of a jump shot and the self-inflicted perfection of egocentricism is not the same thing.

I have been amused since the election to hear all the pseudo-conservative pundits and politicians look into the cameras with their very best puppy eyes and say "I really want Obama to succeed. I am an american, and we can succeed only if he succeeds." John McCain is chief among these fools.

I believe these idiots. And it explains why the Republican ommander in chief. But other than that, I wish a plague upon him and all his government.
can't conservatives hope that obama will do a good job?

Obama has connections to far-left people, however I don't think (and I hope he's not) he's an extremist.

I don't think its right for people to hate bush, just like I don't think its right for people to hate obama.

It could be worse.

lol

So you are saying that isn't right to treat moveon-ers as they treat you? Only thing wrong with that is that they ARE moveon-ers. They spent a lot of time and money on Obomber. It just don't seem right to let them off so easily.

Nope. Just not right. I ain't a Christian anyway, so I can be just as much a jerk as they are.

You are just better than I am.

We will see. If The Anointed One turns out to be a decent Ruler and shows mercy to his minions... I MIGHT feel bad for believing him when he attended and spoke at EVERY event sponsored by Soros. Might. Prolly not though.

There is something fundamentally wrong with capitalism: the greed factor.
The bank failures are clearly the result of individuals lining their pockets at the expense of giving out dubious loans to dubious people. The American auto industry has shot itself in the foot for decades, refusing to do real engineering work to make detroit cars at least equal to japanese. Hell, even the Koreans are making better cars than detroit. The problem is, maybe you don't care about 10 million people thrust out of work and then becoming dependent on the government (shades of socialism right there) which will be a huge taxpayer expense anyway, so they pump billions into detroit to try to stave of the utter collapse of the american auto industry.
I think before you condemn that process, wait till it plays out to see if the government decides to pull a Castro and keep all its capitalistic takeovers or if it sells them off like they should in a few years when the economy recovers. BTW, personally I almost feel like letting detroit take a dump because I don't see the billions being pumped into them as leading to better cars just more executives assured of their huge golden parachutes, hell, golden Islands. I just see business as usual and the same thing happening in another year due to the pigheaded lack of vision by the so-called executives in detroit. Those two industries are a good example of why you can't let those asssholes run things by themselves, they just want to line their pitiful pockets at the expense of everyone's pension funds and the like and to hell with the environment and all that entails. So let things play out for a year or two before you abandon Obama. Rush Limberger just said the same thing, quote, "I hope Obama fails" and to say that is tantamount to saying I hope America fails. He is a rush alright, a rush to judgement. If McCain had been elected and said the exact same things as Obama, Rushkie would be all gushie, kissie and huggie. Can you tell I hate that assshole?

Let me summarise it:

Its capitalism and trade that is causing Detroit to loose money on their substandard cars... as it should be. Capitalism does not reward inefficiency.

Its socialist thinking that is causing stupid people in Govt to bail out incompetent firms. If market forces were allowed to determine profits in the 60s and 70s, the US auto industry would probably be able to compete today. But they were pampered by socialist protectionism. Now its payback time and the US auto industry will have to rethink, retool and rebuild ... or die.

As for the 10M people, they are not (over the longhaul) unemployed or dependent on the govt. Most of them are intransit and will find work.

So, I think there is something fundamentally wrong with socialism.

Thanks belchwater! That is the nicest remark from a bubbly baby I have ever received.

You should have mommy take you to a pediatrician for that cute little bubbly thing you do. That "blah, blah" thing. They can put powder in your diaper that makes it taste nasty and so when your finger goes to the mouth, you won't want to make bubbles and stuff. Just say "Mommy! Bubbles! Doctor!" and see if she leaves you in a basket by the entrance to a hospital ... again.

Carpet bombing has to be the answer again right?
Do Detroit, think of all the taxpayers money it would save.
