Germany bombed England in 1940. In return, England and the Allies bombed Germany for 6 YEARS until Germany surrendered in 1945. Lots of German citizens were killed in these bombings but no one seems to call that a genocide.
Fast forward to today. Gaza bombs Israel. Israel responds by bombing Gaza. Gaza people die and it's a called a genocide (by some).
So were the Allies committing genocide too? Or is Israel not committing genocide?
To help you answer this question if it is not already obvious to you, most definitions of genocide do not include leaving 99.9% of the population alive.
@vivify saidYou're wrong on all three points. I mean objectively wrong. Israel does have targets. The Allies most certainly targeted civillians. And Israel certainly isn't trying to exterminate anyone.
The Allies had clear targets and clear objectives. Israel doesn't.
The Allies didn't target civilians, Israel does.
The Allies didn't think all Germans should be exterminated....
@sh76 saidIsrael bombed every single Gazan university, every single Gazan hospital and even refugee camps. Unless Israel's target is "everything" they have no target.

Did allies target civilians? Other than Hiroshima (which was only bombed because clouds obscured the intended military target), what civilians did the Allies target?
Israel's stated goal isn't extermination but their actions for the past century in the West make certainly makes it seem so.
@vivify saidWhen Hamas intentionally embeds it's weapons in civilian establishments, that's what happens.

The Allies wiped out Hamburg, Dresden and Tokyo among other cities and killed tens or hundreds of thousands of civillians in each of half a dozen raids.
Read some history, buddy. The Allies targeted civillians regularly and practically for fun. Dresden was a cultural town with no military installations that the Allied destroyed in 1945 when the war was already over for all intents and purposes.

That's where all the rockets are launched.
@sh76 saidThen Israel is targeting everything, aren't they? Refugee camps, children's hospitals, everything.
When Hamas intentionally embeds it's weapons in civilian establishments, that's what happens.
This is what I mean by Israel has no goal. They have no plan to end the war, extermination is the plan.
@DJJ saidThere are rockets everywhere. Therefore bomb everywhere.

We're all the same page; the only difference is you're hesitating to call it genocide.
Don't worry, RajK or one of the other conservatives will proudly admit it is.
I want to make one thing clear: I'm beyond discussing whether Israel is morally right for their actions or not. It's too late for that.
When this invasion ends, there will be no home for Palestinians to return to in Gaza. We are witnessing history at this moment: the beginning of end of the mid-East crisis.
