I think the U.S. has drastically regressed in race relations. For the first time in quite a while, people felt comfortable being openly racist, during the Trump administration. White supremacists chanted in the street, a presidential candidate called Mexican immigrants drug-addled rapists and called for a ban on Muslims....the KKK even openly supported the president.
For most of my lifetime, it was a shameful thing to be caught being racist; a person's career could end in disgrace. But now we're living in a time where being openly racist can get you elected. I can't think of any other time in since I was born where someone could claim "Jewish space lasers" were deliberately causing natural disasters.
I don't see how on earth anyone could for a second believe the U.S. has made any progress. We're clearly going backwards.
Even on this forum, posters feel at ease making disgusting racist comments. It's more embarrassing for some posters here to lose a chess game than to post a racist comment.
The post that was quoted here has been removedI think you’ll find it’s actually: “Most people want to keep the good things they’ve got.”
And that has nothing to do with being white.
I’m pretty sure if you ask the average black person in the US if they want to trade places with a starving Ethiopian or the average Asian in San Fransisco if they’d like to live in a mud hut in the suburbs of Varanasi they’ll tell you to go fck yourself.
That being said, yes, the US has a problem.
Well, it’s got many. And the absurd individualism combined with extreme capitalism and a completely misplaced & indoctrinated sense of patriotism is at the core of their problems.

@shavixmir saidYou dont need to be so extreme... any other country in the world would do. Chances are their response will be the same. Since BLM, several blacks who have their head screwed on right have come out and said that just being born in the USA is like winning a lottery. Smart blacks know the truth. The lazy ones keep wining and closing their eyes to what is going on in the rest of the world, failing to appreciate what they have.

@vivify saidClearly going backwards. In the last 40 yrs we have seen the development and establishment of many organizations which are clearly racist. It has gotten worse because rather than fix some of the problems have and caused on themselves, blacks continue to blame the rest of the world

Your opinions are worthless.
I believe economic prosperity is not a zero sum game. Destroying systemic economic racism in the U.S. does not mean white people will have less in order for people of color to have more. I highly recommend the book, "The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together" by Heather McGhee. She has a TED talk on the topic.

@phranny saidI dont know what that book is about but what I do know is one possible end result of all of of this racial tension, and this is something blacks say all over the developed world, not just the USA. They want reparations. This is the aim of all of this unrest. They do not want to work. They want the state to support them because of the sins the white great grand parents committed against black great grandparents.

@rajk999 saidI saw a Youtube video about African immigrants in Sweden, they were protesting outside a govt office complaining that their govt supplied houses aren't big enough for their 15 kids and they don't get enough free food, money, and medical care to live in the manner they have become accustomed to. It's hilarious but sadly I can't find it anymore.

@dood111 saidImmigrants? Most of them come from a life of poverty or persecution otherwise they would not need to emigrate. They should be thankful and stop making so much children.
