Third world countries were countries that weren’t NATO (first world) or Warshaw pact (second world).
Because many of these countries were ecomomically poor, third world became a sort of economic term. But it’s complete rubbish.
Take India. Never have I witnessed poverty on the scale I saw in Mumbai.
Yet, there is a vast amount of wealth in India too. Riches you can’t even dream about.
If you get a pension or can remote work full time. You’re much better off living in Thailand than in most places in Britain. Better weather, much cheaper accomodation, good health service, pat pong, etc.
And according to “third world”, Israel is 3rd world.. Egypt… China.. bizarre.
Yet, you exclude Japan… which is on the brink of societal collapse.
If you live in Beverly Hills or on the coast in Cornwall… sure… many countries may not be as good as where you are.
But if you’re on the estates in Manchester or living in Compton, then many “third world” countries have much better areas to reside in.
