We can't control some people. We educate them, but they continue to get drunk and drive.

Didn't work when they tried it. And for similar reasons, making all guns illegal wouldn't work in the U.S.

    I agree.

No matter how many speed cameras we put up, people keep ignoring them and kill other road users due to speeding.

    We should make cars illegal.

If people were allowed to drive tanks equipped with cannon and .50 machine guns like the Second Amendment says, they'd be invulnerable to being killed by drunk drivers and would be a vital check against government tyranny.

I think the cameras are there so that the government can give out more tickets and raise some funds. 😀

Maybe we should make making things illegal illegal.

But that law would make itself illegal.

When people plan to commit murder, they don't do it by intentionally getting drunk, and then get in and operate a vehicle. They do it by firing guns.

Better education and more frequent checks are pretty effective in combating drunk driving.

And reducing the permitted BAC to zero would be far more proportionate proposal than a complete ban on alcohol.

    Wrong, but more proportionate.

    Why drunk drivers?
Surely sober people cause accidents too.
Indeed, I'm pretty sure if we look at this logically, the only way to stop people dying from road accidents is to ban cars.

Drunk drivers should be shot on the spot by responsible gun owners. A very, very simple solution.

But making driving while intoxicated illegal and handing out stiff penalties reduces the amount of incidents.
