So Ms Biondi wants to bring fraud to justice

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/pam-bondi-threatens-prosecution-amid-doges-findings-about-fraud-were-coming-after-you

I am not exactly holding my breath, but this seems to be something where we can see how many people are accused of what and how many will be convicted by courts.

I guess IF this prosecution ever happens... Big "IF"... then we might see if they found any fraud! 😆

They might have found a couple $1000 in fraud - as much as a $ million? Maybe...😆

Pam Biondi won't lie? She is the AG after all.

Virtually all the "fraud" happens in the private sector where people build Ponzi schemes or defraud investors, etc. for huge returns. 😆

Imagine what a government workers risks to actually think about commit fraud - a modest salary but (in the past) reasonable job security AND a pension. In government, there are too many others who see and sign off on things to make fraud easy.

No, they are not going to find much fraud. They WILL however find a lot of things Congress spends money on that they don't agree with - but which nevertheless were signed into law or duly approved by some group, and so not fraud.

I would not have funded the F-35 fighter, the Littoral Combat Ship, OR the Gerald R Ford aircraft carrier - to me those are incredible examples of wasteful spending that should not have happened. Other people think a $32,000 comic book is wasteful. We all have opinions. 😆

The chance of them finding ACTUAL fraud is low. 5-10% I would say. 😆

If there is an approved program, there is no fraud involved.
Only if you can prove that the approval was obtained frauduluosly.

No my logic is if the Congress puts up a programm and someone is taking part in the program, that is financed by the congress it is not fraud at all.

Fraud is to promise something and not delivering.

No. It is simple:

Ponzi promised to return more money that he got and didn't hold the promise.

The congress set up rpogramms (or approved of budgets containg those programs ) in which people promised work. e.g. research into climatology. Then the people getting the money delivered their results and didn't defraud the government.

That you disapprove of climatology which is a srious science has nothing to do with climatologists obtaining legally funds for their research.

Of cousre you could still be of the opinion that climatology is serious, but you disapprove of gender studies. vThe effect is just the same.

Maybe and maybe not. I had some differences with my superior officers when I did my military duty.
