Week 12 The Church

The Bible clearly states that believers should meet together regularly for prayer, worship, teaching, fellowship and mutual encouragement. God never intended that we walk alone in our faith. Involvement in a local church is vital to our growth in Christ.

1.Circle key words and phrases in the following Scriptures.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
ACTS 2:42

* For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
MATTHEW 18:20

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of
Christ.
GALATIANS 6:2

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
HEBREWS 10:25

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so
you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
JOHN 13:34–35

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
EPHESIANS 4:11–13

I think DoctorScribbles will benefit particularly from next week's lesson on Satan the Temptor.

In my time of rehabilitation, I could not ask for a more appropriate set of lessons than on Obedience, Fellowship, and Temptation. Weeks 11 through 13 will be a blessing to me, giving me a boost in the right direction and a solid foundation to cling to should my resolve start to waver.

What is "the Day" that this verse refers to? If one does not see it coming, is one excused from attending extra church?

I am sure it is saying that you need to be ready for when Christ returns. When he returns you want to be unashamed of yourself. Be right with God in fellowship with Him and other believers.

You should capitalize 'Him' when it refers to God.

The verse indicates that you can see the end coming. Do you believe this is so?

No, no one knows when it is coming, but God gave use signs to look for His coming and to get ready for it.
