Week 7 Witness
When we become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ, we become responsible to tell others about Christ. There is no greater PRIVILEGE than sharing the love of God with your friends, family and neighbors.
1. Circle key words and phrases in the following Scriptures.
Come, follow me, Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men.
Matthew 4:19
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
*But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
1 Peter 3:15
For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard….
Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household.
Acts 4:20; Acts 16:31
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8
We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:20
2. What do we learn about our responsibility as witnesses in:
Matthew 4:19
Acts 4:20 and Acts 16:31

deny that.
I bet this week's Study is one of your favorite topics
of the series.

But there are a lot more that I like. Week 9 and 15 and 23 are my favorite studies but I like them all.
Cribs lucky I was still in town. I am leaving to the Concert now though in San Jose. Be back on the 1st of Sept.
Originally posted by RBHILLIt seems these scriptural passages only license responding to the questions of others, and not seeking out others for proselytic purposes. Where is the scriptural justification for preemptive proselytizing?

RBHILL, allow me to act as a go-between to help
you understand what bbarr is asking. As you can
see from the Arcana 4 thread, his command of
English is so great that he knows an infinite number
of words, all of which you may not understand, as
most of us operate within a very small subset of the
language as he understands it.
The Holy One should certainly correct me if I'm wrong,
but I think that one aspect of his question is this. The Bible
seems to command everyone to be a witness. But if
everyone were a witness, this seems to leave nobody
to be witnessed to. If everybody obeyed these Biblical
commands, we would have all chiefs and no indians. All
preachers and no congregation.
So suppose that, one by one, everybody who is witnessed
to becomes a witness themselves. Eventually, nobody would
be left to hear the message, and everybody would be witnessing
to nobody. Is this the situation that God, through his
witnesses, is trying to create? And if so, does the Bible provide
a rule that says people can eventually stop witnessing? Or,
would witnesses at that point begin witnessing to each other,
trying to out-witness each other, to demonstrate superior faith
(which resembles biological evolution, favoring better faith as the
goal of the population).
