Has Wendy Alexander 'blown it' not only for Gordon Broon but also for the SNP, the SSP, and indeed any other advocate of Scottish independence?

How has Wendy blown it for the supporters of independence?

Not for the committed supporters of independence (more power to their elbows, I say) but to the cause of independence.
If a referendum were to be enforced now most would apparently not vote for it. That is why Salmond does not call for one now is it not?

Your original post said she had 'blown it' for the SNP, SSP and supporters of independence.

She clearly hasn't.

But as to the timing of the referendum - Salmond got the biggest vote at the election, and formed the government. That gives the SNP the right to control the timing of the referendum.

Wendy's not stupid though - she's trying to cause dissent in the nationalist ranks and hoping there'll be a move to speed things up and move to a less favourable timescale.

I see. So I may have mistaken her motives. Whatever, I think we both agree 'the sooner the better' ?
