You say you know it, but you insist on the contrary. Brilliant!

I'm not asking the stae to validate Christianity, just to include Christmas in the winter holiday. No, I'm not in favor of making every student ...[text shortened]... today and so we find out about these
things that remained 'hush hush' in the past.

Yes, to all your questions. Schools are non-learning institutions anyway as far as the academics are concerened, we may as well make them religious-learning institutions....🙄

Yet another brilliant comment!

You would have made a good captain for the Nazi army.

Or 16th-century Inquisitor.

I know! I just hate having to sit home and be paid for doing absolutely nothing for a whole week! 🙄🙄🙄

Chancremechanic,

You seem to have some relatively strong ideas and views on this (and apparently every) subject. I do have to take issue with your killer kiddie shpeel though.

I mean, things have changed alot in the 30 years since you were in high school. You blame the lack of religion in schools for kids going off shooting each other, yet surely with the whole separation of church and state thing, they didn't have it in school back then either! Furthermore, the problem is, surely, far more complex than simply the lack of religious teaching in schools. Aren't the real issues social disaffection, child abuse (and how many religious leaders have been caught with the alter boy?), the rise in TV shows promoting fear of other social groups (blacks? homosexuals? hispanics?) amongst kids, a lack of recreational facilities, poverty, I could go on.

Anyone who believes that you'll transform society simply by promoting a set of beliefs (that people are free to doubt if they choose, such as me, who knows its all a load of .... tripe) is living in a little dream-land.

All power to Nemesio!!!

Nothing to do with a free week off? That just shows a lack of imagination.

Must be tough trying to adhere to intellectually indefensible ideas all by yourself.
I suppose ad hominem is all you got left in you. I was actually looking
forward to more unintelligible blather to rip apart. Less entertainment for me.

Ah, here we go. Open our minds to receive the inspiration of God channeled
through you:

America, as a majority, is a country of Christians, and we should be able to celebrate the birth of Christ aloud!
I wouldn't mind Cathilics playing Bingo in lunchroom , or Muslims slapping each other with the Koran, or Hindus feeding Rats....all in fairness.
The reason why we are having so many school kids killing each other is because people like you want God/Christ out of every institution, probably even the home.

While I contemplate these great truths you've given us the kindness to impart, I'll try
to stop 'driveling' on my bib.

Well, bearing in mind I've just moved to a new country I'm sure I can find something to do, despite the fact that nothing is open (Xmas -New Year hols (never had this problem in Japan)), my family and the majority of my friends are on the other side of the planet and most of my friends here are off with their families over summer break.... Oh, and my G/F is off back to Oz for the next 4 months.
