Its not just abrasive, its unconstitutional.

Lets add that factor to Life insurance policies too. I have never been a smoker, but I get charged a premium as my age goes up, although my risk may be less than a 2 pack a day smoker... ?
Every 2 years, lets run a tread mill test, and base the Life insurance price, on the cardio rsults??
When was the last time you had a cardio stress test, with cardiolite? I just had one. Took 3 hrs. CT scans were involved before and after treadmill. My insurance Co. was billed $6800.0. Think this test will be available under the new healthcare?

Nope, but I had a cheaper version that was required to be on our company ERT, everyone had to be fit enough to respond to emergencies.
You had a Dr. standing by, and they ran you for awhile, and either passed you, or flunked you.
CT scans were probably your expense?

A stress test without Cardiolite is not a very good indicator of heart health. You could run all day with major blockages in your arteries and not know it. It may be ok for younger people, bot once you reach your 50's you better have the other test which i assure you won't be allowed if we had a nat'l plan. Doesn't seam like we're going that route, yet.

No one likes being made to do something even if it's good for them. "Mandatory" anythings are usually resisted by the US electorate. And the supporters of health care reform have done a very poor job explaining why the individual mandate is necessary (i.e. because without it many healthy people won't buy insurance until they are sick meaning that insuran ...[text shortened]... tionate amount of unhealthy people making coverage unprofitable [or a lot less profitable]).
If they don't buy the mandatory insurance it will be avery small fine initially. Doubt they'll beef it up for a few years.

a hiked with two smokers in our thirties. Their smoking habit was very evident at 10K ft. above sea level.
They ended up hours behind on a 12 miles hike..... so I think it shows up early in life.
