- by attacking a judge?
Does he not realize judges have at least some judicial discretion when presiding over these trials that can have an impact on the verdict? Does he not realize judges decide prison sentences for those found guilty?
We need look no further than Aileen Cannon to see what a friendly judge can do for you, but Trump is turning this NY judge against him with his repeated attacks. I don't understand this.

He’s a narcissist.
Everything is about defending his weak little ego.
A judge has power over him, and that is not possible (in his mind), so he lashes out, constantly bending truths and facts to suit what his ego needs.
It’s actually quite fascinating to see it play out like this. Most narcissists are quiet about it and just beat up their wives and the like.
@mchill saidYou are the last person who could grasp the gambits of Trump. Note that he goes UP in popularity every time he is in the news for these travesties…., then note that he just miiiiiiiiiigghht have reasons for what he does.

@mchill saidNote mcHill omits any reference to the other trial, where the prosecutor Jack Smith is fighting with the judge in that case.

McHill is losing cred. Maybe he will tell us why Jack Smith is doing that? Is it OK for Jack Smith, but not for Trump,?
@mchill saidYou have probably never met someone who LITERALLY cannot shut their mouth.

It's like they have Tourette's. It's very weird being around them.
@mchill saidHe’s grandstanding. It’s all he knows. Any publicity, even bad publicity, means people are talking about him. Look at any national news outlet: Trump, Trump, Trump. It’s so obvious that he thrives on making a spectacle of himself. Did Bill Clinton, or Obama, or Bush Sr., or Bush Jr., or Reagan, or Carter, make headlines when they left office? No, they retired into quiet obscurity. Trump cannot not be talked about. So he instigates ever more scurrilous incidents, just so people have to notice him. “Mommy, mommy, look at me!” He never grew past age 5, he just got louder.

@mott-the-hoople saidTrump has admitted to making the payment through Michael Cohen. Cohen has already gone to prison for making the payment. Trump's signature is on the checks. Both women have admitted to getting the payments, which were falsely filed as business expenses to the State of New York.
need a banana to go with that republic?
Trump is guilty and he's going to be convicted. Real crimes, no bananas. Time to wake up from your fever dream, Trumpers.
@wildgrass
In their minds Trump IS a king already and therefore literally above the law and they want him to be exactly like that if by some horrible situation he is reelected and he would become a dictator in a heartbeat if he had enough allies to pull off the coup that failed last time. That coup attempt was just rehearsal.

@shavixmir saidI agree but I think he's working with an outdated set of skills that worked very well for him, until the me too movement came along. The world has changed and no longer validates or enables his behaviour and the old dog he is, is unable to learn new tricks.

@kmax87 saidHis strategy of intimidation brought him certain benefits in civil suits against private individuals and corporations, but will not work in a criminal suit against a state or federal government. Obviously he has not yet figured this out and either he’s not listening to his own legal team, or his own legal team is advising him rather badly.
I agree but I think he's working with an outdated set of skills that worked very well for him, until the me too movement came along. The world has changed and no longer validates or enables his behaviour and the old dog he is, is unable to learn new tricks.
@kmax87 saidThe problem for a narcissist like trump is that they generally get away with their behaviour by over-bluffing others and changing the narrative to suit themselves (gaslighting) , but in trump’s case he’s constantly on TV and everything is recorded.
I agree but I think he's working with an outdated set of skills that worked very well for him, until the me too movement came along. The world has changed and no longer validates or enables his behaviour and the old dog he is, is unable to learn new tricks.
So when he tries to save his ego by gaslighting everyone, someone pulls up what he originally said or done.
It must be very frustrating for him. So, then the media has to be fake, doesn’t it. It is impossible for him to be wrong. So, everything else is fake, made to get him, motivated by anti-trumpism, etc.
And what’s fascinating is that this is all playing out on TV. And you can see his victims (yes republicans… when you are convinced by a narcissist, you are a victim) defending him:
- oh, he was only joking
- oh, the media is fake and out for him
- oh, the whole justice system is opposed to him
- oh, he loves me really officer…
Normally it’s only psychologists (for the victims, narcissists obviously hardly ever go to therapy… there’s nothing wrong with them, it’s always someone else), police and survivors who get to see the whole spectacle play out.
But now it’s the world.
@moonbus saidMoonbus wants Trump to be like everyone else, toe the line. This comes from his socialistic tutelage, we are all the same, we will end up the same at the end of the day. No one should be different or try to be better than the other guy.
