Alright. I'm tired of people who I used to respect saying that men are better than women. Thats totally wrong. We both have equal rights. When it comes to strength and look ect ect ect women are better at some things and men have areas that they're better in too. Women are not put on this earth to clean the house, watch the kids, and please you guys. So stop. ðŸ˜
Saying women should be staying at home and raising a family is not necissarily saying they are in any way inferior, thats merely the spin you've decided to take on it.....
Originally posted by Remora91I agree that scoffs comments are not so clever, almost certainly said purely for effect. But you yourself (and society at large) seem to be moving so far the other way, he mentioned that he thinks "a womans place is in the home" which means to you "women are inferior". Now we reach the point where women who do want to stay at home and raise a a family are seen as taking an "easy" or "inferior" option.
But why shouldn't women be allowed to have careers? What if I don't want to have a kids? Its just scoffs2001 is making it seem like women don't have the right to be independant.
Be carefull not to become his opposite.....

I don't think thats neccesarily the case Remora.
People get rejected by employers for a wide variety of reasons. Merely looking funny, having a difficult to understand accent, Unnatractiveness ect all actually play a part in business.
Take a consultant for forintance. The consultant must be able to chat to clients on a regular basis, come across as professional, be well spoken and most of all , be a "people's person". Looks very often come into play to be popular and for likeability.
From a business perspective, all these factors play a part in whether you get the job or not. Now take a woman that may fall pregnant within the next 2 / 3 years. She is a major risk for any firm should she choose to fall pregnant. I am sure no firm would have a problem hiring a woman IF they were able to somehow put her under contract that for X amount of years she may not have a baby, however this is pretty unconstitutional and will never hold up in real life.
Fact is my wife falling pregnant means I get an extra 2 weeks holiday leave a year. My wife however quits her job for atleast 6 months (and gets paid during that time) and for the 9 months of her pregnancy works at a significantly lower productivity.
Is that really fair ? 6 months maternity leave ? Why not 6 months patenity leave ?
cheers

Hello 😀
lol, well Oz is a good example, we knew it was barren, now we know why ! 😀
Despite the lack of maternity pay there are things like baby bonuses and tax cuts if you have a family...... but I'm sure maternity leave pay would make it easy for some to start a family.

How are the goverment trying to achieve this rise of 50% in the population, sponsored sex weeks ?
Maybe if they do have sponsored sex weeks your imigration level might rise a bit ! 😀
*Alex and Sarah get on a plane and fly to Oz to show them how its done !! 😀
Originally posted by whitedeerwithnohornsHuge water problems, even when it does rain (which aint that often) its never in the catchment areas!! So lots of water restrictions, there even considering building a desalination plant in NSW to help the water levels......... not sure if and when thats happening think there still looking at costs...... which are usually pretty huge for desalination and only sustainable by oil rich countries..... we will have to wait and see.

Not sure about the plan to actually increase the population, they have currently tightened down on visa's although they have made it easier if you want to live outside of the major cities so as to help develop the more remote parts of Oz. How that will be policed I dont know, and how many people that will attract?? personally unless I was cash rich then I wouldn't go for it.... cause when you first come to a country you want to be in the place where its easiest to get work.... city's!! Cant imagine moving to Parachilna to try and find work......... Population varies between 2-8 people, 1 pub, 1 restaurant, 1 pool, 1 roundabout, 1 train station although the train doesn't stop there :0(, 1 youth hostel........ so the jobs are limited.
I think there also letting in more immigrants, which is actually quiet good because they tend to start lots of small business's creating more jobs etc blah blah but they all go to the city's not the other areas of Oz they want developed.
Room is not an issue, Oz is 1.5 times bigger then Europe with a population 3 times SMALLER then the UK!!!
So come to Oz and **** like rabbits y'all

what is a real shame is that you can see something that is so simple and so equitable at 12 yrs, while some people much older, well at least chronologically, than you still hang on to ancient dogma desperately and childishly trying to enforce an oppressive status quo.
as the saying goes, "you're young only once, but you can be immature forever".
as far as all the nonsensical excuses some men try to give for keeping women at home, steinem had an interesting thing to say:
No man can call himself liberal, or radical, or even a conservative advocate of fair play, if his work depends in any way on the unpaid or underpaid labor of women at home, or in the office.
fair play just doesn't seem to be in some people's agenda.
she also had this to say about employment:
There are really not many jobs that actually require a penis or a vagina, and all other occupations should be open to everyone.
so don't quit rachel. minds will change so long as people like you and others here fight the garbage - and for what is left, pathetically clinging and clawing to antiquity, there is always legislation.
in friendship,
prad
