As a cultural nationalist educated by the Irish Christian Brothers, like his younger brother Willie, Pearse believed that language was intrinsic to the identity of a nation. The Irish school system, he believed, raised Ireland's youth to be good Englishmen or obedient Irishmen, and an alternative was needed. Thus for him and other language revivalists saving the Irish language from extinction was a cultural priority of the utmost importance.

A nationalist in 1916 in Ireland...is white.

Oh and that racial purist thing kinda hurts y'all's cause...

Keep defending No1

.ain't no skin off my ass 🤷

@AThousandYoung

From wiki.

Patrick Henry Pearse (also known as Pádraig or Pádraic Pearse; Irish: Pádraig Anraí Mac Piarais; 10 November 1879 – 3 May 1916) was an Irish teacher, barrister, poet, writer, nationalist, republican political activist and revolutionary who was one of the leaders of the Easter Rising in 1916. Following his execution along with fifteen others, Pearse came to be seen by many as the embodiment of the rebellion.

I see Nationalist.

I see Republican.

And the other article before talked about his racial purist ideals.

I didn't happen to see any anti white BS?

Maybe I'll keep looking? 🤣

Sadly almost none of the American Irish speak their Irish Gaelic language so they aren't Irish by Pearse's definition.

Apparently you aren't that bright - or you're dishonest - probably both.

Yes, he was a Gaelic nationalist and a Republican. In Ireland a Republican was an enemy of the dominant English Monarchists. The man was never registered with the American Republican Party so your attempt to equate the two is nonsensical.

@AThousandYoung

If he was alive now he would be a Trump supporter and you know it.

If I can't use people from the past how come you and Duchess can?

I was so shocked when she said it I went ghetto and almost slapped her.

I'll never forget that 🙂
Sounds as if you've really led a sad and pathetic life.
It's no wonder that you're so full of anger and hate.

No.

I've had an interesting life.

My brother with the wife and job and 3 kids says he envies me because I got to do whatever with no consequences or restrictions.

I lived.

Now I'm just relaxing but I think I have one more chapter left in me 🤔
