Milosovic ultimately relented only when he got a bloody nose (=NATO military intervention). Chamberlain failed miserably to obtain "peace in our time" by appeasing Hitler. Hitler had to be stopped at horrendous cost later on. Sometimes, a bully must be met with aggression early on, to avert worse later.
In the current case of Iran, this is a crisis Trump himself manufactured by his own rashness and stupidity: tearing up a prior treaty which was functioning and verifiable, bombing of a girls' school, attacking civilian infrastructure, economic blackmail, threats to obliterate an entire civilization--acts which are forbidden by international law and treaty, and should have been reined in by Congress.

I should not need to elaborate but seeing that so many here, including you for starting this thread, are delusional regarding the nature of Islam, I will explain.
In all of these Muslims extremist states, the people are indoctrinated to kill Jews, Americans, infidels and Christians, and such doctrines are hard-written into the Quran and wired into their brain. This process starts from early as 3 yrs. Instead of learning kids games, they are taught to shoot Jews with toy guns in schools. Their school books contain stories or war heroes who killed infidels. They are required to give their lives for the Islamic State, and to become martyrs. A 6 yr old with a gun will not hesitate to kill you. These are not children. These are soldiers, who were put there because they know how soft the western world is. These are the people [teens included] who will rape, torture and abuse your women and children. That you refer to them as civilians show how far you are from reality. The list of indoctrination methods used in these socieites is truly impressive. You need to Google it and have a read.
The Jews have been dealing with these murderers for decades and they have had to ignore this idea you have that these are civilians and that you have to be immoral and insane to attack them. That is the recipe for death. If Jews were all like you, Israel, your country would have been destroyed back in 1948. Right now in dealing with Hezbollah, whose mo is exactly this, Israel has promised that if a rocket originates from a Lebanese village, that village will be evacuated and destroyed. The Jews are nice. Me personally, I would have given them 3 hrs to run and bomb the entire village.

Don't attack their civilian population whom are NOT at war with anyone. Simple really. Iran hit their USA military targets without killing one USA civilian.
