In the case of Hamas, the aim was to disable their ability to repeat their Oct 7th atrocities. Israel did not care how many had to die, and neither did Hamas. If Hamas had surrendered and disarmed, the war would have been over on October 10th.

So that settled, retaliatory actions are justified. Does Iran 'deserve condemnation' for violations?? And I have never heard of war happening only in places where there are no civilian homes or schools or hospitals. Can you tell us a place like that? Iwo Jima comes to mind, but I imagine people lived there, too. Should we have avoided Iwo Jima? Should we have found some uninhabited place rather than Hiroshima? Or, done nothing, as says Shav. There is no difference in Pearl Harbor and the hell of Iran for 47 years, except for the scale.
