No question, any man in this country that is doing things like that needs to meet their maker in court and hopefully be prosecuted to the fullest. But, I as average Joe on the forum, I cannot for the life of me figure why this case out there somewhere is of interest. The facts are copious, including financial records, emails, witness testimony, flight logs, video evidence, and there are obviously accomplices and what not. Some of the witness testimony is hours of tape and you can watch if you care to "see the facts".

I don't know of any explanation. One popular theory on the internet is that they are paying him for pardons, but I have no way to verify that.
