I would say Obama. Why ? Because he came across very presidential with dignity whereas McCain stumbled and murmered too many times.
Obama was defintely the one who debated and dealt with the subjects in a very structured way whereas McCain nibbled here and there and could not bring across a solid and firm view.

No big mistakes by either debater. The Dems are gonna say that Obama won the debate. The Repubs are gonna say that McCain won the debate. So what else is new?

(I just want to know why there weren't any debaters from the other parties. At least then it might have been entertaining.)

McCain said the U.S. is the world's largest exporter. No way ! Germany No. 1, China No. 2, U.S. No. 3.

McCain: "This isn't the beginning of the end of this crisis, this is the end of the beginning."

What does this mean ? Is it going to get worse ? Is it going to get better ? This is a rather enigmatic statement if you ask me. The conclusion I draw from this debate is that McCain doesn't have a clue of what is happening and what should be done in the field of reforming the financial system.

What made McCain totally ignore Obama's physical presence? Is rudeness a prerequisite for the Presidency these days?

I think that Obama was very weak at the beginning, but he warmed up a lot towards the end and that is what most people are going to remember.

According to the polls that I saw, Tweedle Dee (Obama) won this debate by quite a margin.

I noticed this as well ... He refused to look at him and look him in the eyes.

I feel that no one "won" the debate. Certainly, no one was swayed. If you are an Obama supporter you felt that he did fine. If you are a McCain supporter you felt that he did fine.

There was no moment where you said "Ouch, he really stuck it to him" or "Wow! That's a great point"

I am an independent, but obviously, an Obama supporter. I felt pretty lukewarm about the whole thing.

Now was that McCains strategy or a tactic. You know, sometimes I get the two a little confused. 😛

I have to admit, I though Obama went a little over the line when he looked over at McCain and called him a senile, bigoted cracker as he tried to break him. I was proud of McCain though, he didn't let go of that temper of his. Unfortunately, however, rumor has it that he took it out on his wife immediately after the debate. They just blamed the cuts and bruises on her "falling down the stairs".

It makes perfect sense if we are going into a Depression. Otherwise it sounds like nonsense.
