"The Donald" has caused a lot of turmoil has he not? His list of shady business deals, crazy behavior, and less than dignified language is long. So, who's to blame for all of this? Well, Donald and his GOP minions in a way, but there is a larger problem here. In a country of over 225 million eligible voters, less than 130 million (58 percent) bothered to vote. What happened to the other 90+ million? It's not all voter suppression and Russian hacking that's to blame, folks. Much of this has to do with plain old apathy.
Every nation gets the government it deserves.

@mchill saidI went round with you on this right after the election. Remember when Trump was saying right before the election that the election was rigged? He wasn't warning us, he was bragging. The fix was already in. 7 million registered voters in this country were stripped from the voter rolls, mostly from swing states. The vast majority of these 7 million were people of color, who overwhelmingly vote Democratic. I'm not saying that voter apathy didn't play a part, but when combined with Kris Kobach and his Interstate Crosscheck lists, it was enough to push Trump over the edge.

@mchill saidThe main motivation for getting off ones ass and going to vote is not to vote for someone but to make sure the other fellow does not get in. Or in this case the main motivation for Trump was hillary and the hysteria of folk such as suzi, zalooney and sonhouse. As little as their influence is it was on balance better for Trump than against.

@suzianne saidLet us assume you're right Suzianne and 7 million voters of color were stripped from being able to vote. What about the other 83+ million??

47% of the democrat base is on fed assistance as romney stated...they are not prone to get off their a ss.
And this cannot begin to compete with the corporate welfare our government is shelling out to the Fortune 500. If you want to tell a story about welfare, then tell the WHOLE story, not just the part of it FOX News and the GOP feel comfortable with!

@mchill saidWhat if those who lost the ability to vote were in key states, in key gerrymandered districts cleverly designed so the loss of those votes keeps the present power structure firmly in place in SPITE of the 'other 83 mil'?
