I already knew and mentioned (in a thread years ago) that China had sent ships, bringing silk and porcelain, to Africa
during the Ming Dynasty, The Africans evidently often had a problem finding enough goods to trade with the Chinese.

The post that was quoted here has been removedThe problem being, obviously, that the reports on WMD (UN, CIA, etc.) actually stated that there was no proof of WMD.
And many people protested. The intelligence services opposed. Human rights groups opposed. Left-wing politicians opposed.
The politicians lied and the UN failed. Colin Powell should have a statue in Brussels for people to piss on.
The reports on China and their treatment of the Uighurs are clear.
Are we once again to listen to politicians and national spin doctoring? Or do we heed the reports?
And yes. Europe has a very nasty history.
In part it’s the best argument to have the EU.
And because of the EU we have the ECHR (European Convention on Human Rights); which is basically the UN charter on human rights built into formal law.
And because we have the ECHR we have the obligation to speak out about human rights abuses. Much like the UN does.
China is a nasty piece of 💩.
From the Confucianist patriarchial society, via their treatment of their own population, via the treatment of their minorities to their social credit system. They are nasty.
And yes, this is my Western European take on the matter. And it’s a take which coincides with my take on Israel, the Philipines, Saudi-Arabia, Britain, the US and various Dutch political parties (to name but a few).
If it looks like 💩, smells like 💩 and feels like 💩... don’t eat it.
And this has nothing to do with the Chinese people. It’s about their government and politicians.

In reality, I have criticized United States government and even American culture many times. I refuse, however, to parrot the obligatory Duchess64, anti-Western racist line here, demonizing the United States and dehumanizing the American people. (Duchess64 has enjoyed attacking all American people for allegedly loving to wallow in wealth.)
