These people were always here, in the US they finally coalesced into a unified political force when you elected a black president, they called themselves the Tea Party. Trump and Fox News simply saw them for what they are, a sizeable niche in the market, and they quickly politicised and monetised that niche.
If Trump died tomorrow there would be any number of Trump mark 2s ready to suck on that tete.
