Trump defenders have made much of one sentence in the middle of his January 6th speech where he talked about being "peaceful". They don't talk about the following facts:
Trump called for his followers to go to the Capitol on January 6th, the day Congress was to certify the election.
He said it was going to be "wild".
In his speech, which repeated numerous electio ...[text shortened]... icators are that Trump wanted the crowd to disrupt the certification and was quite pleased they did.

He knew and intended differently, however. Do you think it's a coincidence that the crowd left his speech and then immediately attacked police in a successful attempt to break into the Capitol and stop the certification?
