Exxon-Mobil is doing extremely well these days. I believe they recently claimed their highest profits ever recently. Why?

Here's a relevant article that says "high energy prices" are the reason. Does this mean the oil industry jacked up prices and is making tons of money? Does it mean that demand from our military raised prices and consumers didn't cut their demand in response, increasing demand as a whole?

It means that more Chinese and Indians (not Tonto) are moving up to middleclass and demand cars, which use oil and thus screw up the supply/demand curve, and their oil-driven economies are using oil 10-fold. The Arabs are not stupid and $$$ in rising the pice of oil. American CEO see $$$ and go along with it. Midddleclass schmucks like you and me pay more at the gas pumps, and the poor people freeze while CEO make 30,000,000 in personal profits....10 years ago, only Americans, Europeans, and Australians were driving...now, everybody is driving.....

I kindve doubt that, could be, I think we have enough oil in the United states to last another thousand years. In Wyoming I heard that were finding more oil then were using, For example: for every 10 gallons we pump up, we find 12 more gallons.

that is completely incorrect. the US is using more oil than it produces. It has been that way since the 1970's

th US currently imports over 60% of its oil needs.. so you do the maths

Uuuh, no. See Mosey's post above.

If the US could produce more oil than it uses we wouldn't give a rat's @ss about the Middle East. We wouldn't have a single soldier or Marine there.
