3. Okay, not planned, but he encouraged it.
4. Okay, he didn't encourage it, but he didn't try to stop it.
5. Okay, he did try to stop the violence, but he should have done more, and sooner, during fog of war.

Laughable.

One thing a coup needs is a PLAN that when executed results in a different person being in power. Even if the Jan 6th meeting had been prevented, don't you suppose they could have reconvened on the 7th? Or the 8th? Or even the 19th?

I could see how that may have been a plan if disrupting a meeting 2 weeks before inauguration in and of itself could have prevented the formality from occurring later.

And Trump supporters are probably the most armed segment of the US population, yet we have no record of any one of them even brandishing a weapon.

The idea that this was a coup would be totally laughable, but somehow the Democrats have spun a narrative that feels like a sort of vindication for the most gullible segment of the population.
