Because george said so.
I have a complaint about how most of the jedi went down like punks in this movie.
you gotta love yoda though. always was, and will be my favorite character. the way that little guy talks is almost as awesome as how he fights. i do agree that the way most of the jedi died was pretty lame, though.
I loved the blatant religious and political symbolism though. Order "66" and "your either with us, or your my enemy" were a couple of the more obvious ones, though there were a few more that were fun to catch also.
personally, i didnt buy the whole climax scene between the chancellor, skywalker, and jackson. the way that skywalker basically acts like a robot in that scene was a bit of a surprise. i think the way that lucas led up to the part where he finally does decide to go to the "dark side" were pretty good, but the actual scene where he switches over was (at least for me) simply unbelievable. everything after the scene where the chancellor kills jackson was a bit of a letdown, although i cant complain. a lot of it has to do with the fact that you know whats going to happen anyway, so u have to throw in that bias to be fair. ill just add that one of the last scenes were skywalker pretty much almost burns completely to death, only to stay alive was a stretch. I mean, cmon, hes a jedi and all, but anyone taking that much punishment would die, jedi or not.
all in all, a good film, wouldve been better if i didnt know what was going to happen (obviously).

Originally posted by AmauroteO that lame death scene in deep blue actually shocked me. The best actor in the film and he gets punked.

well they could probably squeeze at least one more out of the time
when Aniken does Vader and his kids get in trouble in #1.
Like the Death Star is only in its early construction phase so that
took at least 18 years or so to get to the not quite finished stage
that showed up in #1. Plenty of time frame for a lot of action.
"Siths Get REALLY pissed" title of next flik....
