It is $1T. Store thefts are over $1B. It may herald a new world of just not paying debt. Does that sector of your crowd just hook up on the internet one day, and plan to all simultaneously not make the payments any more? So what are we going to do about it? Can't throw them all in jail, and they are used to giving the finger, ....So, what will happen?

I doubt that will ever happen.

Credit card companies make money by keeping people in debt. They may get huge payoffs initially but then their cash cow will dry up. The lobbyists won't let that happen.

If people can’t get decent paying jobs then they won’t pay their debts and there’s nothing you can do about it. You want to imprison even more people than we already do?

I have absolutely no idea what you are on about? It’s not in the news or anything.

Do you have any background info?

But why would they run up their debt if they cannot pay their debts?
Why would they have a credit card?
Their is no 'debtor's prison', thousand.

But Vivy has the answer,.... the goverment, which includes me as a taxpayer, would relieve all the debt. Are you on his bandwagon?

Well, I think that as a US Citizen, yes, the nature of the economy, the rules, etc apply to everyone equally. You could start a college, SuzyYou of NYC, or you could open a casino or build a hotel.
Yes, good for everyone.
Thankyou all for asking questions, no one asks me questions. And I answer them.

Easy, Shav. Do you have a direct question without an air of glibness? Please restate.

My question is serious. I have no idea what this is about. You seem to have your knickers in a twist about it though, and I’m just very nosey.

'Stiffing' may be a bit American coloquialism, it means refusing to pay a debt that is owed. I lose $100 to you in a card game and not give you the money.
So please re-read the OP and it will make sense. I am conjuring up the nature of all of your mates in the USA who are thieving and rampaging and costing us billions of dollars. They are employing the concept of 'safety in numbers', in that they move in packs, like animals, which they are, mostly American Africans, taking whatever they want. They are thus mobs, liberals in action!!
We cannot jail them all. So what if the tiktok crowd devise an idea that on February 1 of 2024, every one of them stops paying their credit card indebtedness.
Vivy has the answer....the Government! will cover the losses of the banks! This remedy is right up your alley. (another coloquialism).

I think he's saying if you forgive student loan debt, "stiffing" credit cards will be next.

Myi initial reply was with that assumption.

Thankyou, yes, we could apply scenario to students all getting on tiktok and agreeing to join forces, refusing to pay their debts. This might likely work, we would scramble like crazy to do something, I have no idea what could be done against a mob of hyenas. But worse, there are a LOT more debtors with credit cards, so a plan to do that would bankrupt a few banks. It would be the problem of the idiot banks who gave CCards to these losers, but aaarrrgghhh, the government would have to pay a lot of insurance claims fo the banks. So, the Woketiktok crowd will prevail in the end. Which I have been preaching for years.

But the big picture, is that these losers, who don't give a crap about tomorrow, will be in a spiral trying to be prosperous, I surely would not hire them. But you see, they want to live in a communist-type world, hand to mouth. So, no problem.

Now I don't know what you're talking about. Is there some mass conspiracy to not pay credit card debt?
