I wonder if ever a day will arrive where by courts of all lands agree on a standard punishment for crimes?

The following is surely impossible to accept in today's world?

Does cultural difference permit a lack of humanely and agreeably controlled punishment to be applied in all corners of the planet?

Anders Breivik gets a min 10 years for killing 77.

I wonder in how many countries that would occur?? ...😕

Woman in China gets 5 years for stealing a banana.... I wonder....? 😕

Standardisation has to come to meet at the river mouth someday, surely?

Ten years? He's been sentenced to 21, the maximum sentence in Norway. However, that sentence can be extended if he is deemed to be a danger to society. In other words, he got a life sentence, the same as he would get in most civilized countries.
