Rather than start a new thread for each non-U.S. thread (a lot to talk about) I'll condense them here.

Thailand - About a week ago The Thai Supreme Court disbanded the most popular party who won the most seats parliament, due to their opposition against stringent laws preventing "slander" against the Thai monarchy. The party's leader was banned from politics for ten years.
Now, Thailand's current PM was removed from office due to bribery charges.

I lived and worked in Thailand for several years and we knew not to diss the royalty.
Or their religious shrines.
One assshole family, Mormons pushing their bibles off on folks decided it was ok if these two idiots took turns sitting on the golden Buddha and taking pictures, one after another,
They were so stupid they took the negatives (this was before digital cameras were available) and the photo shop owner happened to be Buddhist.
He was understandably incensed and turned them over to the cops.
Those two idiots were sentenced to 6 months in jail and THEN deported.
That pretty much stopped the attempted incursion of Mormonism in Thailand🙂
I worked way up north at a town called by the initials NKP, I'll try to spell it,
Nakom phenaom, which is why we called the place NKP🙂 They were a beautiful people. I lived with a Buddhist priest and his family.
@sonhouse saidYou've had a full and interesting life, bruh.

Yes I did. When we got back to the states after a 3 year stint in Jerusalem, we saw quite clearly just how provincial Americans are.
Like we used to watch CNN, world news which was world news in Israel.
We get back home to Pennsylvania, and we turn on CNN, 'and in local news, a bus overturned on US 80 injuring 20 children.
Bad news for those kids.
So the segment went to world news:
And in world news, a bus overturned on US 80......
We were going, Excuse me?
I also worked on Andros Island in the Bahamas, there is a British submarine base their, long story, but I was there when the British lost control of the Bahamas and their own government took over.
I'll never forget this red headed Brit dude coming to Coakly town where we lived, and stumping to get reelected to whatever office he held.
He was literally run out of town on a rail, I saw him running down the dock an jumping into his boat and scramming out of Dodge🙂 Funniest thing I saw in YEARS🙂
