I'm asking you all if the world would be a better and safer place if America lost its military might?

I personally would like to see America broken up into four or five seperate countries and deny them the ability to have weapons of any kind.

Do you see this as being a likely outcome?

No, other countries would fill the void left by america. then we'd probably have china, russia, or the eu as the world's superpower and de facto policeman.

As far as I can see it's only the Union that keeps the Texans from conquering the world...

maybe this would be the answer to our political problems - a proposal for the new countries:

1. East Elitia - New England states and the Northeastern Corridor region including NYC, Philly, Baltimore, DC.

2. The Realm of Real Men - the heavy manufacturing region (most of Pennsylvania, W.Va, Ohio-Indiana-Illinois-Michigan-Wisconsin, and vicinity).

3. The Land of Dixie - the old confederacy - possibly including southern parts of Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.

4. Big Awl - Texas and Oklahoma

5. The Fruited Plain - Minn-Iowa-Missouri-ND-SD-Nebr-Kans and vicnity

6. The Wild West - Mont-Ida-Wyo-Uta-Colo-NM-Ariz-Nev, and the rural inland parts of Wash-Ore-Calif (and Alaska)

7. West Elitia - the immediate west coast (and Hawaii)

Just the US or would you like to see other countries lose their ability to have weapons of any kind as well?

If so, which ones?

This plan would virtually guarantee that American Football becomes an Olympic sport before too long.

Let's go with Melanerpes' proposal. If the US was divided into these separate countries, which of the seven would end up being a) economically successful, b) militarily significant, c) influential in terms of foreign policy? What would society look like in each in, say, thirty years time? What would be their relations to each other? If they opted for new constitutions, what provisions would be included?

The question was theoretical and I was looking was sensible answers and theories

that had a modcum of thought put into them but unfortunately I find all I got was a

bunch of middle aged, red neck, computer bound (in so many differing levels) no

brainer guy's who are playing with themselves under the desk and who have no

experience of life or the issues at hand.

The question was not an attack!!!? is was a quasi economic/ military/ social reform question. CAN YOU UNDERSTAND THAT!!!!!!

SHOULD I TYPE SLOWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A word of advice to those who replied to the question, go outside and get some fresh air and leave your computer alone for a couple of days and oh!!! stop thinking that you are right all the time.

I thought the best parts of the answers were the names of the supposed new states, I laughed for such a long time... many thanks.
And the other was the thought that America was "THE WORLDS POLICEMAN" I find this incredulous and quite scary but very funny as well.

No need to reply anymore as I wont be back to this nonsense again, cheers for the shallow insight guy's and the laughs.
I can imagine what you guy's will type, its so predictable.
Try thinking instead of the question again.
