Here is my political manifesto:
The United Kingdom is a Christian democratic constitutional monarchy, the Sovereign is the head of state and as such may order a national referendum in any case where s/he believes a large proportion of the populace disagree with any parliamentary decision.
Any person wishing to live and reside in the UK must be able to understand English, and a proficiency test will be administered before any residential rights are granted. The United Kingdom is an English speaking nation, and as such we use British English as the official language. All official documents will only be produced in English. If a person does not understand English, it is their responsibility to provide a translator/interpreter if required. If a person cannot make any official request or statement in English, he will not be heard except in cases where that person is a witness to a crime or a victim of a crime, and does not reside or live in the UK.
Any public message or sermon must be broadcast in English, or if it is broadcast in any foreign language, it must also be translated simultaneously into English. This includes religious sermons and political speeches.
Any foreign national (any person who does not, or is not entitled to, hold a UK passport) who commits a crime in the UK may be deported and will not be allowed re-entry for at least 10 years, regardless of citizenship/family already residing/other.
The United Kingdom is a unique country. We have our own weights and measurements systems. Anything which may be weighed or measured using an Imperial or metric system may be sold by that system. There will be a public referendum on the re-use of the Imperial currency system.
Businesses may allow smoking on the premises anywhere they want as long as the following rules are adhered to:
Suitable areas must be provided for smokers.
"Smoking Allowed" signs must be posted on ALL entrances and exits.
All recruitment advertisements must state that the premises are smoking premises.
Intergration within Europe may occur only where UK sovereignty overrules any compromising European legislation.
Schools may have their own dress codes and any other rules they deem suitable for an educational establishment (i.e. Christian assembly in the morning, nativity plays, etc.) Any pupils who do not agree with these rules, or do not adhere to them may be dismissed. The fault shall lay with the parents, not the schools.
And that's just for starters.
Originally posted by c99uxNational Service will be introduced for all males and all females aged 18. National Service will last for at least 2 years. However, "National Service" does not mean serving in the armed forces or being forced to fight. It may also include positions such as non-medical staff in hospitals, non-teaching staff in schools, civil servants in public offices, as well as in the Police, Ambulance and Fire services, or even working abroad as part of the British Council or Diplomatic staff. Other National Service posts may include street wardens and refuse collectors, and jobs within the postal service and nationalised industries.
There will be no exemptions from National Service. It will be a criminal offence to avoid or to try to avoid National Service duty.
