"Woke" was dead 40 years after it was coined. And now enemies of the black man have commandeered it and put their own spin on it. Just like the non-existent "CRT". White people seem to always need something to be afraid of.

But it still remains perfectly good and reasonable for black people in this country to remain "woke" about who and what the white man is and what h ...[text shortened]... g about the real crimes in this country against PoC and women and LGBTQ.

Typical, and disgusting.
When are you going to do something about that RACIST streak in you?

@JJ-Adams
Ah, that makes it SO much better. I guess that resolves the half lit embarrassment over the treatment of blacks here in the US.
It makes your consciousness SO much easier to take.
Sonhouse...WHAT makes it so much better? Whachootalkinbout? What is 'it', for that matter?

@AverageJoe1
You would deny any truth I would say so drop the innocent act.

Follow me here. I see this random post from you, it does not make sense when read straight on. I ask you what you mean by 'it' being so much better. To whom you are you addressing that remark to? Responding to what? Are you daft?

Following the actions of January 6 and watching your actions and the actions of other Trump acolytes in its wake, it behooves all citizens to be “woke”, unless they want to wake up in Nazi Germany reincarnated in a totally Dis-United States of America.

Republicans refuse to see the rampant bigotry within their own party. They do however see themselves as losing their positions of power to people of color. This both frightens and angers them. Little do they realize the more hate and bigotry they display, the smaller their voter base becomes, as an increasing number of voters leave their ranks. I predict that in the years to follow the GOP will become a smaller regional party dominated by southern white men.

A bunch of sweeping generalizations wherein you project your own bigotry onto a group you despise while pretending you can read the minds of millions. You don't understand the people you are talking about, and it's laughable.

@Sleepyguy
So you would also deny red states are trying to pass laws allowing them to remove electoral college workers giving them the 'wrong' vote and installing their own yes men to vote the way they are commanded, that will end democracy faster than anything else going on in Trumpland.

Bunch cynical SOB's.

The problem with deSantis and other Latinos/Hispanics of his particular ilk and mindset is that they were and are able to pass for "white" and are still trying to get in good with the "whites" and some hateful Christian groups.

The same could also be said of certain Irish-Americans, e.g., Bill O'Reilly and Tucker Carlson. I bet that scruffy alcoholic Steve Bannon also has Irish roots. (Nobody knows where Alex Jones came from -- maybe Aliens?)
