Democrats who are rooting for Yevgeny Prigozhin's fight against the Russian government don't know anything about him.
He and several accomplices were convicted of robbing apartments in upscale neighborhoods. He was pardoned in 1988, and was released in 1990.[27] In total, he spent nine years in detention.
Prigozhin now controls a network of influential companies, including the Russian state-backed mercenary company Wagner Group and three companies accused of interference in the 2016 and 2018 U.S. elections.
He used to be good buddies with Putin.
Prigozhin, his companies, and associates face economic sanctions and criminal charges in the United States,[8] and in the United Kingdom he remains a designated person under sanctions.[15] The FBI is offering a reward of up to $250,000 for information leading to the arrest of Prigozhin.[16][17] In October 2020, the European Union (EU) imposed sanctions against Yevgeny Prigozhin in connection with his financing of the activities of Wagner Group in Libya. In April 2022, new sanctions were imposed on him by the EU because of his role in the Russian Invasion of Ukraine.

@vivify
So you are hoping they destroy each other. I expected that.
What if he pulls off a coup? He will be far worse than Putin ever was. And don't forget all of the nukes the new regime will control. I'll bet the Rockefellers are worried about that. naturally the Rockefellers are hoping they destroy each other so they can take control of those nukes in the end, but that is just hope.
The western empire just may have screwed themselves big time. You sure better hope they destroy each other. This may not turn out the way you or the Rockefellers want it to.
@metal-brain saidYou’re seriously freakin deranged.

The Russian people demand a csar and until they demand democracy and personal freedoms there will always be a Putin or Prozoghin in the Kremlin. They way he was talking about the stupidity and futility of the war in Ukraine it might be good news for them if he ousts Putin or better yet a crippling drawn out power play between them.
Ultimately the future of Russia and its region is in the hands of the Russian people, if they get up off their knees and oust the regime and the oligarchy that supports it we may yet see a successful Russia and the nations that border it.
It’s been reported that a plane left Moscow heading north before it turned off its transponder hopefully it’s carrying Putin
@metal-brain saidYeah sure thingy scaredy-cat

@kevcvs57 saidThat's a bit unfair. Russia is a dictatorship where speaking out against Putin can get you incarcerated or even killed.

I'm sure the people want a real democracy but it's not easy to risk your life for something that may not happen while you're alive.
@vivify saidHogwash. Kasparov has done that for years. Is he in prison?

@vivify saidStephen Kotkin says Russia seems to naturally spawn dictators and that it's some sort of cultural or geographic phenomenon. He's extremely long winded though and I can't find when exactly he said it.

Kasparov has experienced the cost of opposing Putin. He was jailed in 2007 for five days and then bruised, quite literally, when beaten by police during a peaceful protest in 2012. Those days in Russian politics, he says, made him miss his time at chess, where at least there were clear rules.
Will he ever go back? “Boris Nemtsov came back,” he replies. “Alexei Navalny came back. What’s the point of becoming a martyr? I can do much more by staying here.”

@AThousandYoung
He was criticizing Putin long before that. It only became a problem when people were listening to him and taking him seriously. Nobody cared about RFK jr. before people started listening to him and taking him seriously, but the CIA assassinated his father and uncle and probably his uncle Ted too. What does that tell you? RFK jr. could be next.

Ted learned to keep him mouth shut about the CIA killing his brothers. He knew he might be next if he didn't.
