The only truly different places are where you set at a cafe and can't force yourself to eat. This happened to me only two places on earth. China and Tailand. But only on three occasions.

The stuff in Tailand was too hot to eat!

The chinese soup we were offered makes menudo seem tame. I kind of like menudo actually. After years of eating at a friends house on New Years. It's a long story.
